Tate/Google Art Project images

[edit]

Please don't remove licenses from images, as you've been doing. See User talk:Dcoetzee#removal of pd-art by Tate, etc for details on why this is a problem. If you continue to remove licenses in the same manner, I may have to block this account. INeverCry 17:09, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear INeverCry. How do I contribute to the User talk:Dcoetzee#removal of pd-art by Tate, etc]]?

Just click the [edit] link there, and post your message beneath all the others. INeverCry 17:45, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers

In brief: it is completely acceptable and welcome to add accession numbers and links to the official page on the Tate website for the work. However, please do not remove or replace the link to Google Art Project (we need to preserve the link to the source where we got the image from). You are also free to add information about the original photographer, but please avoid adding the copyright symbol "(C)" as these works are not copyrighted in the United States and several other nations, so this may be misleading. The existing tags on the images already explain the complex copyright situation. Please let me know if you have any questions at User talk:Dcoetzee (use the "add comment" button at the top right) or Special:Emailuser/Dcoetzee. Thanks!
