Wikipeida== Gothic cathedral elevations ==

Hi, Xvdces, and welcome to Commons! Thank you very much for the images you've made and uploaded, they are all of good quality. I've added them to some categories (including Category:Architecture images that should use vector graphics, because the images would be even better as SVGs). I was wondering if you could possibly upload a cathedral elevation without highlighting? I'd make one myself if it was SVG... On a side note, do you happen to know the difference between a matroneum and a triforium, if any? I'm confused. If you reply here, please type "[[User:HLHJ|HLHJ]]" somewhere in your reply, and I'll get a notification to come read it. HLHJ (talk) 16:45, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, HLHJ,

I have inserted a blank SVG version of the image requested.

I am unfamiliar with the term matroneum. I did some basic searches in a few historical architecture dictionaries, both digital and in print, but I didn't find a single reference to it. My guess is that it is the same as a triforium but when in service of female observance was called a matroneum, or was a kind of convergent evolution within Gothicism. This is only my guess, but you have sparked my curiosity and I will get back to you with some solid citations. --Xvdces (talk) 10:55, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Xvdces! I've made those images their own little category at Category:Gothic nave interior elevations, so it's easier to find the one from the other, though I suppose I could use related-images links. On "matronum", I've replied at Wikipedia:Talk:Triforium#Merge in Matroneum?. HLHJ (talk) 20:28, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
