Euphorbia villosa[edit]

Hallo Georg, diese Seite ist derzeit leider verwaist. Ein Redirect zur Euphorbia austriaca ist jedoch nicht sinnvoll, da diese nicht synonym zu Euphorbia villosa ist. E. villosa ist eine anerkannte Art zu der E. austriaca möglicherweise, aber noch ungeklärt, eine Unterart darstellt. What do you mean by "page currently doesn't specify who created the content"? As clearly stated in the page, in English and Italian, and in the title as well, it is Wilhem von Gloeden (1856-1931). Category:Buildings by Fritz Höger[edit]

Moin Georg,

ich halte obige Kategorie für nicht sinnvoll, da alles auch unter Category:Fritz Höger stehen könnte (in der Kategorie steht nämlich ausschließlich die Unterkategorie). Meines Erachtens sollten wir mit weitere Unterkategoriesierung warten, bis die Hauptkategorie unübersichtlich wird (zu einzelnen Gebäuden gibt es ja nur deshalb Kategorien, weil deren Oberkategorie Category:Hamburg-Mitte inzwischen über 400 Bilder umfasst).

Hallo, hab die Category gefüllt weil sie vorhanden war, und ich halte sie auch für sinnvoll weil Fritz Höger für die Person steht und Buildings by Fritz Höger für seine Werke (so wie bei Büchern oder Malern auch.) About the copyright[edit]

Hallo GeorgHH, I've read your message in my talk page. The copyright has been quite a confusing matter to me and I always messed things up, although I really meant no harm and was only too eager to share with others the valuable things I found. Tut mir leid...

Other images, according to the wikipedia copyright policy, shall be deleted since I can't provided their licences. :( However, those images I mentioned above are really free, while the only problem is how I can prove that. Die englische Wikipedia erlaubt fair use (die Nutzung von geschützen Inhalten), andere wikis, wie auch die deutsche, erlauben dies nicht. License Problem[edit]

Hi GeorgHH
I write you about the lincense of this picture : Iles_Flottantes_Titicaca. I am the author of this photography and I uploaded it to wikipedia myself. In order to be compliant with wikimedia policies, I released it with the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 2.5 License.
You went to my website and saw that the original picture was posted there under the non-wikimedia compliant by-nc-nd. Thus the image is now subject to speedy deletion.
I am not an expert concerning copyright and licenses, so correct me if i am wrong, but I uploaded a slighly different pic on wikipedia with the Attribution ShareAlike attributes. Hello, my english is not the best...
What i mean is: when the tamplate PD-Old-70 is marked with {{delete}}, then all images which use the template PD-Old-70 are displaying the deletion warning text, too. And this is leading to misunderstandings. Therefore i removed the deletion-tag from the template PD-Old-70. The deletion request itself is topical.

I have tried every possible way to do it right. Don't say i should not 'make it' right but instead put the copyright status and permissions that each image actually has because you would be a hypocrite. I followed how to make a right contribution by checking the pictures that are actually online and available and working. But for me it doesn't. Have you noticed that while the english version of wikipedia has lots of pictures the spanish version has none? they might me a 5% of articules with pictures, you know why? becouse you delete them. i know commons is for every version but it just looks like the english pals have far more options, dont ya think? maybe you don't want this version to grow. because you do all your efforts to discourage everyone of uploading any material. so they don't keep trying. but i did. and you punish me. thanx.

Gallerien und Kategorien[edit]

Ich wollte noch weitere Bilder im Bereich Maschinenbau bzw. Umformtechnik hochladen. Allerdings weiß ich nicht ganz genau, wie im Detail Gallerien bzw. Kategorien erstellt werden bzw. welche Konvetionen gültig sind. Ist ja nicht unbedingt notwendig, dass jemand hinter mir her räumen muss. Wäre nett, wenn du mir da ein wenig auf die Sprünge helfen könntest. Aus der englischsprachigen Hilfe bin ich nicht unbedingt schlau geworden. F. Broer 11:50, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Falcon, jedes Bild sollte mindestens einer Kategorie zugeordnet sein, natürlich können es auch mehrere sein - bis hier ist es wie in der deutschen wikipedia. Wenn du eine neue Kategorie anlegen willst, beachte das die englische Bezeichnung verwendet wird und die neue Kategorie wiederum einer übergeordneten Kategorie zugeordnet ist.
Für mehrer Bilder die gleichartiges zeigen kann auch eine Galerie angelegt werden. Galerien sind auf Commons etwa das was in wikipedia ein Artikel ist, allerdings ohne ausführliche Textinhalte - nur ein kurzer Einleitungssatz der beschreibt um was es sich handelt sollte angegeben werden (Beispiel: Steam machinery).
Du könntest also Bilder des Brettfallhammers z.B. in Category:Machines oder eine passende Unterkategorie einordnen, oder du legst eine Galerie an die dem deutschen wiki artikel de:Gesenkschmiedehammer entspricht. Dort könntest du Abschnitte für die einzelnen Hammerarten anlegen, wie im Beispiel Steam machinery.
  • Um ein Bild einer Kategorie zuzuordnen trage beispielsweise [[Category:Machines]] auf der Bildbeschreibungsseite ein.
  • Um eine Galerie anzulegen erstellt du eine neue Seite (wie einen Artikel in de.wiki) und trägst die Bilder wie folgt ein:

Hello, images will be deleted only if they are copyright violations.
  • If you want to upload a new (better) version of the images (e.g. with reduced brightness or a better resolution) then please overwrite the excisting file. Use the link Upload a new version of this file at the file history of the excisting image. Load it up with the same name, confirm the warning on the upload formular that the file can be replaced.

Hallo, leider habe ich noch Probleme mit der englischsprachigen COMMONS. Das Bild von OSCAR URSINUS hatte ich mit einem TOOL von der englischen WIKIPEDIA nach Commons verschoben. Die Verletzung von Urheberrechten sind nicht meine Absicht. Ich wollte den deutschen Artikel Carl Oscar Ursinus aufwerten. Das Bild wird momentan bei mir noch angezeigt, obwohl anscheinend gelöscht. Hello, the image source says All rights reserved. Fair use is not allowed on commons, see Commons:Licensing#Material under the fair use clause is not allowed on the Commons, so you can upload only flickr images which are licensed under a free licence like cc-by-sa or similar. --GeorgHH 17:22, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir, I got a very strange message regarding an image I have uploaded some time ago.

If you have the kindness to look at the history of the image, you may notice that before uploading the picture I have contacted the author, who graciously accepted the use of his picture. This correspondence has been provided at the moment of uploading the picture and can be found on the first history page.

It seems that this authorization was subsequently moved to another place. Maybe I did not put it in the right place but a merciful administrator has corrected this and sent it to the right place.

If the author has granted his approval and this approval has been archived, I really dont understand what I am doing wrong and why this image which illustrates one of my articles should be schedules for deletion.

I am willing to do whatever I have to, but I have to understand what is wrong in order to do so.

Hello, you have did it right, and the permission is placed on the image description. But the permission to use the image is incomplete, it is missing a concrete licence like {{PD}} or {{Cc-by-sa-2.5}}. Please ask the author under which licence the image can be used. Copyright information and other stuff (at the moment only in English - I have to translate) is in Image:Huāmǎ numerals.png information page. Image:Chinese numbers.PNG and Image:Chinese numbers.png have also the same origin, copyright and authors (except they are not corrected by 百家姓之四)

Please, can you delete both images called Chinese numbers?

hallo georg, jetzt wird's etwas kompliziert: es geht um das neue sw-bild, das beuys vor einem seiner werke zeigt [1]. was ist deine meinung dazu? ist es copyright-politisch korrekt oder nicht? ich würde es gerne für den deutschen artikel über beuys verwenden [2]. das problem ist: es scheint die fotografie eines kunstwerkes zu sein, das eine fotografie von beuys VOR einem seiner kunstwerke zeigt, was an sich nach VG Bild-Kunst ein © problem darstellt...ich hoffe ich habe mich nicht zu kompliziert ausgedrückt *lach*...würdest du das checken und im problemfall auf "delete" setzen? sonst frage ich in der deutschen UR diskussion nach. mit bitte um antwort auf meiner deutschen WP usersite [3]. danke im voraus und ein frohes neues jahr! hendrike 08:44, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, the reason why I have given an E-mail address of the author is because I have no other way to prove its permission. In the case of the second image ("Marcos Motosierra (banda).jpg"), which as I have mentioned before it was provided with the personal allowance of its author, however, in order to provide some verifiable licence I have use the same that one of the authors applies for all its pictures. My mistake.

On the other hand, I have realized one way or another I must send an E-mail with written permissions. But I have to ask: Must the author also send an e-mail with the permission, or just I have to do it?

The permission must have information about a concrete licence like {{Cc-by-sa-2.5}}, commercial use and derivatives must be allowed. ich hab jetzt erst mitbekommen, dass die Bilder nun doch gelöscht wurden, allerdings ohne irgendwelche Nachrichten davon zu bekommen. Ich habe bei mir im Posteingang noch eine Mail von dem Webmaster der Seite, in der er mir die Benutzung der Bilder (auch bearbeitet) in der Wiki erlaubt. Ich wollte dich deshalb fragen, ob ich die Bilder nochmal hochladen könnte und du mir vllt. sagst, welche Lizenz und wo nun genau die Erlaubnis dahin muss. Hallo Platte, ich habe gerade auf deiner Diskussionsseite gesehen, das die Genehmigung die du an OTRS gesendet hast nicht für die Commons geeignet ist. In der Genehmigung muß eine freie Lizenz definiert sein, also z.B. {{GFDL}} oder {{Cc-by-sa-2.5}}. Ebenso darf die Nutzung nicht auf wikipedia beschränkt sein. Die Commons Lizenzrichtlinien findest du hier.
Wenn du eine solche Genehmigung hast oder noch bekommst, dann sag mir bescheid, die Bilder können noch eine zeitlang wiederhergestellt werden. --GeorgHH 20:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User galleries[edit]

I notice you are making new categories for user galleries. I am not sure I understand the purpose of this. If you take a look at Template:Welcome there is already a function for the user to browse own uploaded files. This gallery will be updated by the MediaWiki software for each upload. Where the galleries you are currently creating demands not only that the user in question is noticed about the existance of this category - but also that he/she manually adds any uploads to this category.

Hello, i dont create new categories - i put uncategorized but used categories which are listed in Special:Wantedcategories in the Category:User galleries.
