Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

This image has been deleted. The Flickr uploader rather obviously is not the copyright holder if you look at their photostream. When transferring images from Flickr, please keep in mind that many Flickr users do not understand anything about copyright laws or do not care about them. Thank you. —LX (talk, contribs) 22:41, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
It looked pretty genuine to me, but it's probably better to be safe than sorry. Merith (talk) 22:54, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the uploader is a guy from Brazil, and even just the first two pages of his photostream include closeup photographs of Paris Hilton, Elton John, Pamela Anderson, Paul McCartney, Queen Elizabeth II, Rupert Murdoch, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Bruce Springsteen, Maria Sharapova, Natalie Portman, and Scarlett Johansson. Compare these often professional photographs with the poorly lit, out-of-focus self portraits. There are also commercial posters and a television screenshot. It really should be pretty obvious. There have been a number of deletion discussions for images sourced from this account: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALinksearch&target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flickr.com%2Fphotos%2F13790198@N08%2F —LX (talk, contribs) 23:28, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
