Category:Pipa[edit]

Category:Pipa (musical instrument) is way more notable. this title should be either a dab page or the instrument. RZuo (talk) 18:06, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Category:Pipa (frog) or Category:Pipa (genus). - Themightyquill (talk) 08:17, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@RZuo and Themightyquill: in enwiki we avoid disambiguator qualifier "genus", because it is accurate, but yet less recognizable compared to Category:Pipa (frog). Category:Pipa itself to be changed into disambiguation page--Estopedist1 (talk) 16:55, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If a category name has two meanings it is not a good idea, to give the short name to one of the meanings, as the files with the less notable meanings are always lost in the bigger category and you won't find them if you need them. Both content categories need a qualifier, to avoid unnoticed wrong categorisations. The short name should be the diambguation category, where you know that there should be no files at all. do yall have a suggestion for the frogs?
https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=hastemplate%3ATaxonavigation+intitle%3A%2F\(%2F&title=Special%3ASearch&ns14=1 shows some cats use a generic name, some use "genus", and some use the names of the family or other upper levels of classification. Estopedist1's suggestion of Category:Pipa (frog) is fine by me. Anyone strongly opposed? -- Themightyquill (talk) 09:23, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RZuo, Themightyquill, Estopedist1, and Kersti Nebelsiek: Closed (no objections) Josh (talk) 04:18, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
