An Italian partisan in Florence, 14 August 1944.
  • Does it really matter if the photo was posed? It's not unusual that historical photos were "recreated" since phone cameras were not yet invented. This man is named, so not a random partisan or a war photo, and should be treated more as a portrait photo of the times. People pose with all kind of stuff in portraits. The Commons:Featured pictures/People/Portrait#Men gallery would be more appropriate. --Cart (talk) 12:01, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose Crop everywhere too tight, wrong focus RolfHill (talk) 09:20, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support Yes, it's got flaws, but ... I like the story his facial expression tells. On the one hand it is the confidence that comes with victory and approaching peace, a very Italian confidence; on the other it is apprehension about finally having gotten there masking the fear that he might have gotten too used to war, and lost too much of himself (to say nothing of others who fought alongside him (OK, it's Memorial Day here in the US, but I just realized that was a coincidence)) to truly appreciate that desired outcome he has fought so hard for.
