Neutral Excellent moment due to the bundle of insects in the bill; but quality issues due to the wrong lens, I afraid. Focus seems more on the wings. Composition is not optimal; subject is going out of frame (I think it can be fixed because it seems a cropped image). Seems better than the current FP; but I prefer this if the bill is bit more sharp. -- Jkadavoor (Jee) (talk) 05:59, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Comment Very good shot of the bird and insects. Suggest you try an almost square crop where the top edge of the branch runs from top-left to bottom-right (1795x1697 when I tried it). That crop eliminates the bottom of the branch, simplifying the scene, and provides a strong geometric form IMO. It would also produce a little more room to the left of the bird than to the right, which I think is helpful given the direction the bird is facing. I can see the greeting card in the shop already :-) Colin (talk) 07:25, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Oppose Nice photo, but background composition is unintersting. --Gavin Collins (talk) 15:31, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Alternative
[edit]Support Crop to emphasise diagonal feature, simplify background. Bird's eye remains in the rule-of-thirds crossing. -- Colin (talk) 17:09, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
