Hungary map

[edit]

Hi,

I see you created this map: File:Physical map of the Kingdom of Hungary before 1919-es.svg

I would like use this to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Module:Location_map/data/Kingdom_of_Hungary

I edited in Illustrator, I added a slightly different border and I rotated the map, but when I save it (use artboard region) still I can see the artboard in the saved SVG file. Do you know how can I save the file that hide everything outside artboard?

Probably the "responsive" option was that OrionNimrod (talk) 19:45, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I am not sure I understand what the issue is, but I must say I have never used Illustrator but Inkscape. If you are trying to remove some information from the original map I suggest trying to open it in Inkspace, as it could be you are modifying the wrong layer and that is why some information remains in the new map despite the changes. In Inkscape you will be able to see the layers and change the one you need.--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 07:17, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Finally I found the solution, that I can save only the artboard if I untick "responsive" at the saving dialog. Btw I am not sure the borders are exactly correct, I would make a modification in a new file, because I would like to use as location modul without texts.
Just a suggestion, if this is the Kingdom of Hungary, I think the city names should rename the Hungarian format as it was the official city names, and after Treaty of Trianon 1920, the new countries renamed the Hungarian cities. OrionNimrod (talk) 09:26, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
