Jcb - how is it bogus if the source of the image (which itself obviously is not old enough to automatically be PD) puts a CC license on the image which is ignored in wikiCommons? You or wiki or whatever may dispute if a digital reproduction of a manuscript page constitutes a new work with new rights, but I would think that if the author of said reproduction uses CC licences, it behooves wikicommons to respect them. We follow Bridgeman v. Corel, we do not agree that a 2D reproduction of a 2D work would somehow constitute a new copyright situation. Jcb (talk) 16:28, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
