Nevertheless the consensus to promote is clear. Promoted ++Lar: t/c 15:35, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am a native Japanese speaker and a sysop in Japanese Wikipedia (ja:User:Miya). These days the number of images that needs to be checked in Japanese is getting to increase. And quite a few ja-speaking users seem to have difficulty in answering questions in English. As there is so few admins who can speak Japanese, I would be happy if I can be an admin here. Thank you. --miya 01:00, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments are always welcome even if you're a new user. (They don't need to be accompanied by a vote if you don't want to.) I wish I could better understand the issues you and Yassie both raised here, but Google translator has a long way to go. "Fruitless controversy" doesn't sound good especially since we like things more mellow here than most wikis, but Miya's contributions here have been nothing but positive. And I also hopes she works here vigorously ;) →Rocket°°° 07:06, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did you notice I admit Miya's contribution both in jawp and in commons, and support her adminship? I stated my concern because I do not want Miya to be like that A-word named meta sysop, who is already indefinitely blocked from jawp and soon to be desysoped in meta. Also, I am not a new user here anyway - I have 1,700+ edits in commons so far. [1] Yassie 13:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I welcome and hereby support Miya's adminship here in Commons, yet I have one concern. Please do not say things like "Do not say anything against me, just obey me and use Commons, for I am a sysop of Commons". Please remember a meta sysop has been indifinitely blocked from JAWP by kept doing that there for more than three years, and is about to be desysoped in meta. I admit Miya is a great conrtibutor both in JAWP and in Commons, as well as Miya.m, so I would not like Miya to follow that user's path. I personally thought that was a dangerous symptom. •  Neutral--In operating ability side,Miya is a good admin,I think.but Miya sometimes sets too great store by private-human-relation on editing,I feel.GcG 07:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
