RfA?
So yeah, Eddie, since even I can pass RfA - I'm sure you could improve the project through adminship... Giggy\Talk 07:00, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I see your point. Hopefully some time in the future :) Giggy\Talk 07:31, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Really no idea. It's just common practise. -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Why ? it is meaned : Certains droits réservés (licence Creative Commons). It is no good ? porque ? aparece con la licencia Creative Commons. No basta, no es suficiente ? Ddfree 21:24, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Re: Translations
Thank you for your work! You can just add the translation to Commons:Picture of the Year/2007/Translations. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Re: Admin
Hey, thank you very much for the offer. I would be more than willing to lend a hand, most notably clearing the speedy deletion backlogs which seen to be in a bit of a state at most times. Over at en.wiki a lot of my work is centred around the non-free content policy, hence I am fairly confident about image copyright in that respect. I hadn’t actually though about it to be honest, but now that you offer, I would be more than welcome. So thanks again, — RedCoat 18:53, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks :p — RedCoat 21:44, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
In your image?
Re
, it's taken from English WP & "photoshopped" to brighten it, so it should be safe. How do I fix the attribution? Trekphiler 11:04, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Canal Dessel-Bocholt and use of third party images
What else can I do when the website says explicitly (in Dutch) that material can be downloaded and used without copyright as long as you mention the source. To be sure, and to have la consciència tranquil·la i wrote them an e-mail explaining the wikipedia approach and they confirmed twice "Yes". So i try to be serious in these things and i understand that copyright is a serious business but this seem to be clear and I have the feeling that some people react a bit obsessive compulsive and this - i'm sorry to say - is not pleasant. I sent the e-mails (in dutch) to the address you gave, so I think this should be enough. Explanations on the many help sites of wikipedia are not always clear, and neither are the very subtle differences between the licences. You're welcome to help me, but please appreciate the effort and the honesty of what I do, to be sure I can use the material. --Flamenc 23:52, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

¡Hola!
Bienvenido Boricuaeddie. Mønobi 04:01, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi Boricuaeddie,
Thanks for answering this request :) but in the future please always tell the user the proper way to make such requests, i.e. by using {{Bad name}}. This helps because they will know how to do it themselves in the future and it is also useful for anyone else who is reading and doesn't know how to do it. If you want to also actually fulfill the request, that's up to you. :) cheers --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 08:51, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations, Dear Administrator!
Boricuaeddie, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and Commons:Deletion requests), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care.
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons @ irc.freenode.net. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading.
Please also check or add your entry to Commons:List_of_administrators and the related lists by language and date it references...

You are fast! The image was from a US government journal and no attribution given. I'm hoping their purely military ones are just that; I'm uploading several others that appear to be from military photoreconnaissance
My RFA
Whether you supported, opposed, or were neutral, thank you for participating in my RFA, which was successful. I started several days ago on the constructive comments. — Rlevse • Talk • 18:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Platonides 16:08, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Picture Thomas Picton
Hi, why have you deleted the piture of Thomas Picton? He was a famous general in the British army during the Napoleonic wars . The picture was used not only in the English language articles, but also in the German ones. Could you please put it in the commons again? Anne-theater 23:03, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello, the talk page of this user was blank, also no copyvionote was on it about the file. I placed the welcome and warning message on it. I think it's better to give him links to important Commons pages so he can learn about our rules, before saying he will be blocked. --GeorgHH • talk 22:50, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I think my statement above was not fine, sorry for my english.
I added the welcome template after the first deleting and after the re-uploaded file was tagged as copyvio. This means, his user page was blank because User:Szczepan1990 (deleted the first file) and User:Margoz (tagged the re-uploaded file) has not informed him about the copyvio. --GeorgHH • talk 23:12, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I am working with author to release the copyright. He has already spoken to me on Urban Planet message board and released it to me. He just has to change the copyright info. Link to the release is here, [1]

- Go ahead and get rid of the picture. Its not needed. Jeff Hill has already uploaded the image as his own creation along with the others. As a result this one is not needed. Thanks for your hold on getting rid of the picture. --Mihsfbstadium 01:20, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
