Uploads of Paintings[edit]

Hi Salwadordali,

  1. First: welcome from me.
  2. For uploads like the ones you provided, please use {{Painting}}, not {{Information}}.
  3. Besides, if you care about the stuff you provide, you might like to know that there are already a few templates which support multilinguality, like {{O c}}{{Size}} {{VGM}}{{Amsterdam}} and there is an easy-to-use folder-function which is for instance used in File:Women_of_Arles.JPG for the titles (at least, if more than 2 languages are given).
  4. And, of course, Creator:Vincent van Gogh (and similar for other renowned painters) already exist and should be used.
  5. Otherwise: Happy uploading ;) [w.] 11:53, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Uuups

I think you upload photographs from replicas, therefore very probably copyvios. See COM:VP#More of a Problem.... Tomorrow, at least, I'll be able to prove a few samples. [w.] 14:37, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, no, what seemed to be "pretty clear" at first glance was a misinterpretation, was provoked by differently cropped versions of different colour and, even proportions (height×width), and the painter's palette knife which created "duplicate" structures on some occasions. Your upload of the blossoming almond trees seems "clean" after more close inspection (which cost ~2,5 hrs, however). Congratulation! [w.] 16:25, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you're referring to File:Blossoming Almond Tree.jpg, it seems fairly clear that this image has been digitally edited (and not very skillfully, at that). No "palette knife" creates that kind of pixel-perfect duplication of substantial areas — those are the tell-tale marks of the clone tool. If not deleted as a copyright violation, the image should at least be marked as a retouched picture. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 23:04, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is about thisone. I'm going to meet you soon. [w.] 07:10, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
