- regretful oppose nothing's really sharp, sorry. Also, please do clone out the stair trails --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 19:28, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Comment To my understanding, a loss of sharpness will always come along with overexposure. Judging from the EXIF and the general appearance, this was intentionally overexposed in order to get the blurred lights, so sharpness was never the goal in the first place. - Oppose per Martin, I also think the bottom and right crop are a bit tight. Sorry. --Cart (talk) 20:27, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- CommentThe bottom crop is alright in my opinion because it keeps the ship including the superstructure centred within the height of the frame. Also, there has to be a certain asymmetry for natural reasons because the reflections are optically extended compared to the real length of the crane beams, which requires more space in the lower half of the frame as opposed to the upper half that is filled by a good portion of "empty" sky. I viewed the photo in the Commons:CropTool and it turned out that the vertical arrangement corresponds well to the rule of thirds. Cropping more on the right edge to create a horizontally centered image would always leave you with at least one crane cut, which would probably be really disturbing. And had the photographer moved the entire frame more to the right to get symmetrical borders next to the outer cranes, the ship would have been crammed too much into the left half of the total image. So I think the current arrangement is really well-made. De728631 (talk) 16:32, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
