- Oppose Nice and sharp, but the dappled light is unfortunate as are the areas of over-exposed chest feathers and the branches/leaves on the left hand side Charlesjsharp (talk) 11:57, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- I regard the dappled light as a feature. But the branches on the left could be either cropped out or expanded -- I felt like including a hint of it framed the bird a little bit, but I'm not necessarily sure it's doing that. — Rhododendrites talk | 13:51, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per Charles, sorry. --Ivar (talk) 12:20, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Comment the tree is a juniper, not a cedar (cedars are very different, compare this!); correction added to pic - MPF (talk) 12:37, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Ah! Thanks. I happened to just listen to a Radiolab podcast largely about a juniper tree passed off as a cedar. :) Oops. — Rhododendrites talk | 13:51, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak oppose per Charles, mainly for the dappled light --StellarHalo (talk) 04:04, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support I am normally quite happy to defer to Charles on matters of nature photography, but in this case I think the lighting is more a part of the environment than detracting from the quality. The plants surrounding the bird have such a structure that they let only small spots of light through, rather than a large open field of light. Therefore, the lighting is part of the scenery. Given that the quality is otherwise high, with crystal sharp focus and good composition, I'm on the supporting side for this one.--Peulle (talk) 11:42, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak oppose I like in fact the dappled light but the detail of some areas is just gone Poco a poco (talk) 16:29, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak support considering Peulle’s and Poco’s arguments. --Aristeas (talk) 17:44, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak support I find it hard to resist this one even with the shadow on its face. Daniel Case (talk) 07:40, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support I actually quite like the light. It's quite interesting. --Podzemnik (talk) 23:02, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
