- Oppose To me, this one doesn't feel as alive as the other one. In this shot, the woman looks more like a doll standing still than a dancer in the middle of a performance. Also, the right side should be cropped, imo.--Peulle (talk) 06:37, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Dear Peulle,Mohiniyattam is, in fact, a form of dance with calm and quiet motions when compared to other Indian classical dances. The footwork is soft, sliding and synchronous with the musical beat and acting. The body movement is sometimes described in terms of calming images of nature as the swinging of the palm leaves, and the gentle undulating of ocean waves.
- And right side cropped.-- Shagil Kannur (talk) 08:33, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

- So, you dislike event photography? But it doesn't mean the image is neither good nor bad. -- Shagil Kannur (talk) 14:11, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- I am very happy with event photography if the nomination has merit. This is a stilted composition, poorly cropped, harsh lighting. Please respect my opinion. Charlesjsharp (talk) 18:25, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

- It is only your misconceptions
and prejudiceabout Indian classical dances. -- Shagil Kannur (talk) 08:24, 5 September 2020 (UTC)- You have no reason to accuse me of prejudice. Please remove your comment Shagil Kannur. Charlesjsharp (talk) 21:35, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- I guess we have a classical cultural miscommuniction here. Charlesjsharp, what you call "too staged" or "stilted" is at the heart of many classical Indian dances. You have every right not to like the picture or to reject it because of the crop or lighting, but rejecting it for perfectly representing that which is depicts sounds indeed like bias against this form of dance and is understandably upsetting to the photographer. It sounds a bit like rejecting an image of a baroque building because of the use of forced perspective. And Shagil Kannur, I think calling Charlesjsharpes comment a misconception is probably on the point, but prejudice might indeed be too strong a word. Also - there will always be people who do not like your pictures for whatever reason. Trying to argue them out of it will not work - taste is not something we can reason with. --Kritzolina (talk) 23:57, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

- Comment Very pretty woman, but I don't think opponents are going to "reconsider their votes", Shagil Kannur (by experience). For me this picture is better than the previous one (angle, more of the face is visible, DoF, physiognomy). But the reluctance might also come from the similarity between both. I believe there would be fewer obstacles if this one had been nominated primarily, because reviewers usually like diversity, and are less inclined to grant another {{s}} where singularity is a bit lacking. Whatever the result, keep shooting, learn from this, and continue sharing your bests! -- Basile Morin (talk) 03:10, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

- Support Having learned a tiny bit about Indian dances in recent years and how each pose has deep meaning, I support this even if there is already one nomination from the same dance and the same dancer running at the moment. --Kritzolina (talk) 07:17, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. But the other one is not the same dancer as you thought.-- Shagil Kannur (talk) 08:24, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
