- Info The grand marble hall in Mount Stuart House. It's owner, John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute, was reputed to be the richest man in the world at the time. Perhaps the most expensive house yet built, containing more marble than any other building in Britain, and with the latest technology such as electric lighting, central heating and a heated indoor swimming pool. This view shows off the detail in the first-floor galleries, the stained glass windows and the star studded ceiling 24 metres above. All by me. -- Colin (talk) 12:19, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support wow, very great! Christian Ferrer (talk) 18:11, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support I really like the composition / perspective, it's different from the "classic" central compositions when a photographer is directly under the central point of the ceiling. It's still working really well for me. Oh, and maybe a few more categories would be good. --Podzemnik (talk) 19:09, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- Podzemnik the centre of the hall was occupied by a temporary commissioned work of art (lots of glass spheres) which meant that I couldn't stand there. I was rather disappointed to not be able to take the standard photo, so had to shoot from the side. But actually this view lets you see into the galleries. If you look closely, along the gallery ceilings, you see lots of women, from history or from myth. According to a biographer, this was done to inspire his daughter. I'll look at categories later.. -- Colin (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Colin I see them! Interesting. I find this view much more entertaining that a central view actually. I feel like with a central view you "just" rely on a beauty of the ceiling but with a side view like this you bring some of your own lines to the whole image. The more I look at the picture the more I feel like I'm looking through a kaleidoscope. --Podzemnik (talk) 19:27, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support - Not all of the picture is equally sharp, but that's of little importance in this instance, as the total effect is very impressive. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:53, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support As Podzemnik, I find this view much more entertaining that a central one. If it resulted by chance, it was a lucky one. ;-) --Harlock81 (talk) 11:05, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
