- Support My wife and I have, for years now, actually been in the unusual situation of having a bird like this as a pet (one we came into perfectly legally, I should add). So of course I love this one. Daniel Case (talk) 17:41, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- Can't say I've ever heard of a cardinal as a pet! Do your neighbors think your car alarm is always going off? :)
I noticed a year or so ago that although the northern cardinal is one of the most well-known, most visually striking, and most common birds in the eastern US, we have no FPs of it! So I've been trying to keep an eye out anytime I have my camera with me, but they're just never quite "cooperative" enough. Very glad to finally get a decent one... but we still need at least one more (a male). Be on the lookout, people in the eastern US! — Rhododendrites talk | 17:46, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

- Oh, she's quiet enough that her wild counterparts outside take more notice of her than any of our neighbors. Yeah ... getting her as a pet was a totally unplanned situation, legal because no money changed hands. Daniel Case (talk) 19:47, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
