Zu meiner Vorgehensweise: Best practice (deutsch). Und es sei erwähnt, dass ich gleichartige und eher langweilige Änderungen mit einem Bot erledige. So manche in den Augen des Betrachters sinnlose Änderung einfacher Natur wird automatisch irgendwann wieder rückgängig gemacht, sinnvoll erscheinende oder immer wieder durch Dritte aus meiner Sicht eher unwichtige Änderungen werden von mir im Bot aufgenommen, so dass alle meine Bilder davon profitieren. |

States of Germany Template
[edit]Du hast das Template {{States of Germany}} unter anderem in die Kategorie Category:1st of May in Berlin in 2018 Grunewald gepackt, was eine Kategorie zu einer einzelnen Demonstration ist. Nach meine Ansicht sollte dieses Template eigentlich nur in die von dem Template auch verlinkten verschiedensten by state Kategorien gepackt werden. GPSLeo (talk) 16:53, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

Template countries of Europe
[edit]Hello XRay. I see you are doing a lot of edits like this one. You may find it easier to edit the templates directly instead of editing each category. This way you would add the template to all the categories at the same time.
Also, this way you will avoid to have a double template of countries of Europe if someone else adds it.

- @Tyk: Thanks for the info. I know the way, but it is quite time-consuming for me, especially with templates that were written with the help of LUA scripting. I would also have to find all the relevant templates, which is also very time-consuming. Currently, setting the navigation template is partially automated - with a very low error rate. Existing templates are checked and omitted if necessary. However, it is also no problem to remove a template again - without any significant manual work.--XRay 💬 11:08, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

- Hi, there are some cases where I cannot see substantial benefit from adding a navigation template to old map categories, when only a few of them are by pure chance fitting modern-day naming schemes.
- You should either create a template that you can add to all subcats of Category:Maps of Europe by Gerardus Mercator and which also includes "Livonia", "Taurica", "Poitou" and "Holstein" as equal choices (Note: such a template exists for one of the atlases already, you can possibly put a huge effort in to adapt it?) ... or refrain altogether from adding that template to anything that may randomly fit the scheme. Note how the Republik of Ireland didn't quite exist back in the 1590s, but the template links to it nevertheless.
- Nothing against templates, but I feel that they should be used with categories that follow contemporary conventions.

- @Enyavar: Da darf ich sicherlich auf Deutsch antworten, fällt mir eh leichter. Die Kategorien mit den Karten nehme ich noch raus. Ich habe ein recht großes Regelwerk, welches auf der Analyse von hunderten Kategorien beruht. Es gibt aber leider immer ein paar, die durch das Raster fallen. Mein Skript steuert Kategorien auf Basis der Templates, des Titels und des Inhalts aus. Aber es gibt immer ein paar Exoten. So eine Aktion habe ich vor Jahren schon einmal gemacht und da war die Fehlerquote höher. Jetzt habe ich ein neues Skript geschrieben und der Algorithmus ist deutlich besser. Es macht eigentlich nur das, was ich manuell auch machen würde. Etliche Kategorien werden ausgelassen, da man da keinen Algorithmus anwenden kann. Es bleiben aber trotzdem tausende übrig, für die es funktioniert. Wenn ich sehe, wie weit ich mit manueller Arbeit komme und wie weit mit dem Skript, dann ist die Fehlerquote tolerierbar. Recent changes
- The software used to render SVG files has been updated to a new version, fixing many longstanding bugs in SVG rendering. [1]
The HTML used to render all headings is being changed to improve accessibility. It was changed last week in some skins (Vector legacy and Minerva). Please test gadgets on your wiki on these skins and report any related problems so that they can be resolved before this change is made in Vector-2022. The developers are still considering the introduction of a Gadget API for adding buttons to section titles if that would be helpful to tool creators, and would appreciate any input you have on that.- The HTML markup used for citations by Parsoid changed last week. In places where Parsoid previously added the
mw-reference-textclass, Parsoid now also adds thereference-textclass for better compatibility with the legacy parser. More details are available. [2]
Problems
- There was a bug with the Content Translation interface that caused the tools menus to appear in the wrong location. This has now been fixed. [3]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 11 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 12 June. It will be on all wikis from 13 June (calendar). [4][5]- The new version of MediaWiki includes another change to the HTML markup used for citations: Parsoid will now generate a
<span class="mw-cite-backlink">wrapper for both named and unnamed references for better compatibility with the legacy parser. Interface administrators should verify that gadgets that interact with citations are compatible with the new markup. More details are available. [6] - On multilingual wikis that use the
<translate>system, there is a feature that shows potentially-outdated translations with a pink background until they are updated or confirmed. From this week, confirming translations will be logged, and there is a new user-right that can be required for confirming translations if the community requests it. [7]

Recent changes
- People who attempt to add an external link in the visual editor will now receive immediate feedback if they attempt to link to a domain that a project has decided to block. Please see Edit check for more details. [8]
- The new Community Configuration extension is available on Test Wikipedia. This extension allows communities to customize specific features to meet their local needs. Currently only Growth features are configurable, but the extension will support other Community Configuration use cases in the future. [9][10]
- The dark mode beta feature is now available on category and help pages, as well as more special pages. There may be contrast issues. Please report bugs on the project talk page. [11]
Problems
- Cloud Services tools were not available for 25 minutes last week. This was caused by a faulty hardware cable in the data center. [12]
- Last week, styling updates were made to the Vector 2022 skin. This caused unforeseen issues with templates, hatnotes, and images. Changes to templates and hatnotes were reverted. Most issues with images were fixed. If you still see any, report them here. [13]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 18 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 19 June. It will be on all wikis from 20 June (calendar). [14][15]
- Starting June 18, the Reference Edit Check will be deployed to a new set of Wikipedias. This feature is intended to help newcomers and to assist edit-patrollers by inviting people who are adding new content to a Wikipedia article to add a citation when they do not do so themselves. During a test at 11 wikis, the number of citations added more than doubled when Reference Check was shown to people. Reference Check is community configurable. [16]
- Mailing lists will be unavailable for roughly two hours on Tuesday 10:00–12:00 UTC. This is to enable migration to a new server and upgrade its software. [17]

- Ich kann hier nur für meine Bilder sprechen und da auch nicht für jedes Bild, aber nicht jedes Bild benötigt auch eine Genehmigung. Ich habe für diverse Besuche Genehmigungen bei den Architekten des Umbaus und bei dem Künstler des Wal-Projekts eingeholt und auch hinterlegt. Dann gab es einen Instawalk, bei dem ich implizit von einer Genehmigung ausgehe. --XRay 💬 09:30, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

- In dem Fall liegt die Genehmigung des Künstlers vor, aber nicht der Architekten. Da ich davon ausgehe, dass es erforderlich sein könnte, suche ich mal alle Bilder heraus, die architektonische Elemente enthalten, und frage dann noch einmal bei dem Architekturbüro nach. Ich werde das Ergebnis dieser Anfrage dann an unseren Permission-Account (OTRS) schicken und die Id bei den Bildern ergänzen. - @Gnom: Mach dir keine Gedanken, ich bin für jeden Hinweis dankbar. Bilder, die nicht unter die Panoramafreiheit fallen, mache ich grundsätzlich nur mit entsprechender Genehmigung. Allerdings gibt es auch da diverse Facetten. Lass mich das kurz mal erläutern: Für das Hausrecht muss ich das Objekt erst einmal betreten. Nach eine Fotogenehmigung frage ich dann auch direkt, völlig unabhängig vom Urheberrecht. Wenn ich mit freien Lizenzen komme, muss ich viel erklären. Da reicht die simple Mail vom OTRS-Team nicht. Dann ist die Frage, was denn eigentlich geschützt ist. Auf dem Foto oben zum Beispiel ist hauptsächlich der Wal zu sehen. Von dem Künstler als Urheber habe ich eine Genehmigung bekommen. Dann ist da das Umfeld und das Kreuz, ein simples Kreuz. Benötigt man dafür auch eine Genehmigung? Es ist nicht das Hauptmotiv, gilt aber wahrscheinlich als Teil der Bildgestaltung - oder auch nicht. Dann wäre die Frage, wer die Genehmigung erteilt. Die Kirche, die der ursprüngliche Architekt geplant hat, gibt es nicht mehr. Schon beim Wiederaufbau nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde sie in abgeänderter Form wiederaufgebaut. Der Architekt dazu ist mir nicht bekannt. 2004/5 gab es gerade im Innenbereich einen deutlichen Umbau, das Kreuz gehört dazu. Die Architekten dieses Umbaus habe ich bezogen auf die Architekturaufnahmen im Innenraum gefragt und auch eine Genehmigung bekommen. Aber nicht zusätzlich zum Kunstobjekt, sondern nur bei den reinen Innenraumaufnahmen. Das wunderschöne Uhrwerk im Turm hat keinen Architekten, die Firma gibt es nicht mehr, muss man überhaupt fragen? Es ist ein funktionales Objekt ohne Designansprüche. Oder den Dachboden, der nur funktional ist. Muss man da auch wegen eines Urhebers fragen? Von der zuständigen Gemeinde habe ich auf jeden Fall die Genehmigung bekommen. Ich könnte jetzt quasi für alle Aufnahmen in Innenräumen, die ich je gemacht habe, quasi endlos Fälle aufführen und Fragen stellen. Und dann kommt dazu noch unser OTRS-Team, welches eine wertvolle Arbeit leistet, aber leider immer unterschiedlich reagiert. Die eher plumpe Anfrage per Mail reicht nicht immer und ist auch wenig diplomatisch. Oft weiß ich nicht, wie ich es dem Team recht machen kann. Das macht das Leben nicht einfacher und manchmal hat man einfach keine Lust mehr auf das ganze Prozedere. Sorry für die lange Erläuterung. Ich mache eine Liste mit Bildern und schreibe das Architekturbüro an und erkläre den Umstand. Die Genehmigung, die dann hoffentlich kommt, ergänze ich. Vorsorglich habe ich schon mal bei der Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche den Eintrag bei Wikidata um den Fakt des Umbaus im Innenraum mit Nennung des Architekturbüros ergänzt. --XRay 💬 17:12, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
