First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Immagini di opere d'arte[edit]

Ciao! Ti segnalo questa mia modifica in cui ho inserito il template {{Artwork}} e la licenza {{PD-Art-100}}. L'uso del primo è facoltativo, ma aiuta ad inserire ulteriori dettagli sull'opera d'arte rappresentata. La seconda invece è necessaria in quanto, nonostante la fotografia sia tua e puoi rilasciarla con una licenza Creative Commons, l'opera rappresentata può essere soggetta a vincoli di copyright, quindi è necessario dire che è invece in pubblico dominio. Nello specifico, l'opera era in pubblico dominio in quanto l'autore è morto da più di 100 anni. Esistono tag simili, come {{PD-art-70}} o {{PD-Italy}}, ecc., a seconda dei casi.

Sarebbe ottimo se potessi inserire una licenza opportuna in tutte le foto che hai caricato che riguardano opere d'arte altrui. Grazie! Horcrux (talk) 09:16, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Le opere che fotografo nelle chiese o musei, sono sempre di un artista. Mi limito a fotografarle e pubblicarle, salvo quando è vietato fotografare l'opera. Clicco su "Rispondi", perché accetto le licenze esposte. La stessa opera, fotografata da altri è stata pubblicata su Wikipedia. Giuseppe Guida (talk) 16:05, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao, anche se la foto l'hai fatta tu ci sono i diritti di Andy Warhol sull'opera in sé, che scadranno nel 2058 (l'anno successivo al 70esimo anno dopo la sua morte), vedi COM:PD e COM:DW. Attenzione inoltre che (1) se scrivi in italiano molti qui su Commons non ti capiscono; (2) se vuoi che un utente riceva una notifica per il fatto che gli ha scritto devi scrivere nella sua pagina di discussione (la mia ad es. è User talk:Jaqen) oppure usare Template:Reply to per "pingarlo". Forse non ci siamo compresi. Ho fatto per caso una ricerca sulla chiesa di San Domenico Soriano. Ho visto che c’erano due mie foto simili. Avevo pubblicato lo stesso dipinto, fatto con due scatti diversi. L’ultima che avevo pubblicato su Wiki Commons era migliore della precedente. Ho provato a escludere la peggiore e chiesto aiuto per non fare errori. Tutto qui! Suggerirei due proposte allo staff: Dovreste seguire con più attenzione la pagina Wikipedia, che è la principale. Fare una cernita tra le foto Wiki Commons e spostare su Wikipedia le migliori pubblicazioni. Infine; aiutare i collaboratori, spiegandogli una cosa alla volta, come pubblicare meglio per far comprendere chi ci segue. Giuseppe Guida (talk) 14:46, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
