Do you know when you'll have the next one finished? (Is there a way to get them out more frequently?)— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:444:380:3a90:5094:7af8:9cdd:5c12 (talk • contribs)

uncertain copyright?/public domain[edit]

copied from Commons:Village pump/Copyright

in terms of [2]...they all seem to indicate public domain so I'm not certain as to the issue--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:26, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I only looked at a couple, but it looks like you put a {{CC0}} license on it. That is a specific license given out by copyright owners, so if that license (specifically CC-Zero) is not present on the source page, it should not be used here. However, U.S. federal government works made by employees in the course of their duties are automatically public domain. So those should be fine, but change to use the {{PD-USGov-CDC}} license tag instead. There is also a {{CDC-PHIL}} source template where you can give the image ID as an argument, to be a more obvious source statement. Not all PHIL images are public domain, but the ones which explicitly say that should be fine to use that license. Once you switch to the PD-USGov license, remove the speedy delete tags. File:41598 2023 27597 Fig2 HTML.jpg/Parry–Romberg syndrome[edit]

File:41598 2023 27597 Fig2 HTML.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Please categorize your OWID uploads/OWID[edit]

Thanks for uploading OWID maps and charts. However, please add relevant categories to them such as "Our World in Data", "{year} maps of the world" or "World maps of {disease}". I've been doing this for your recent past uploads, please do it on your own from now on instead of uploading the images without categories.

Moreover, please copy the map/chart descriptions from OWID and give the images proper titles. Example "File:Child-stunting-ihme (4).png" should be something more meaningful and informative such as "File:World map of children who are stunted, 2016" and the caption should be more than "child stunting" and the description not also "child stunting" but relevant info from OWID. Please don't leave all these things for other editors to fix, and except for the categories that usually isn't done so it's your job to take care of that.
