File:Stenacron.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Can you please remove the Non-commercial note in the file pages please? --Ruthven (msg) 12:18, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ruthven. I can't do that even though I have the photographer's permission to do so. It has been explained to me that only the photographer can do so; his permission given to me is insufficient and so these photographs will have to be deleted. Wikimedia rules and I respect that. I value his contributions and some OER resources I have developed depend critically on many of his images but not these particular ones. He is donating images and I do not want to make work for him. There is more discussion here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Stenacron2.jpg Thanks so much for your attention to these details; keeps the resource available for us all. One other thought. I just realized that these messages were coming to this user StreamsProject (talk) 12:57, 11 May 2017 (UTC) that I set up for students in the macroinvertebrate lab to use. Does it make any difference if we make changes under this user name? If not then by all means delete away. I rarely this username these days because I realize that working from two user names is not encouraged. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm Declan McCabe; usually contributing as User:dmccabe.
