In 1981, the Faroe Islands issued three stamp series. On 2 March came out the series "Old Tórshavn" (FR 53 - 56). The Europe (CEPT) stamps from 1 June (FR 57 and 58) were about Faroese dance - a living mediaeval heritage without comparison in Europe. The last series from 19 October (FR 59-63) show historic writings from the Faroes.
