In 1991, Postverk Føroya, the postal administration of the Faroe Islands, issued 16 stamps.

Anthropochora[edit]

Plants and animals that disperse with people are termed anthropochora (from Greek anthropus = human and chorein = dispersed by aid of). Artist: Bárður Jákupsson; date of issue: 4 February.

Europe CEPT[edit]

The Europe CEPT edition for 1991 had "European Space Flights" as topic. The Faroes contributed on 8 April with two stamps by Bárður Jákupsson.

Tórshavn 125th Anniversary[edit]

Also on 8 April were issued two stamps by Bárður Jákupsson in connection with the 125th anniversary of the municipality of Tórshavn.

The Nordic Issue[edit]

The issue of the Nordic countries was designed by Ingi Joensen and shows two landscapes at the westcoast of Streymoy. Date of issue: 3 June.

Birds[edit]

Two seabirds are seen on the set of two of 3 June by Bárður Jákupsson.

Sámal Joensen Mikines[edit]

The art series for 1991 introduces four paintings by Sámal Joensen-Mikines (1906-1979). Date of issue was 7 October.
