In 1990, Postverk Føroya, the postal administration of the Faroe Islands, issued 17 stamps, including a miniature sheet of 3 stamps.

Fish Industry[edit]

Four stamps of 5 February by Bárður Jákupsson illustrate the main economical sector in the Faroes, the fish industry.

Europe CEPT - Post Offices[edit]

The Faroe Island's contribution to the Europe CEPT edition 1990 were two post offices. Design was by Bárður Jákupssen and date of issue 9 April.

Merkið - The Faroese Flag[edit]

26 April marks the 50th anniversary of the official recognition of Merkið, the Faroese flag by the British under World War II. This miniature sheet of 9 April was designed by Bárður Jákupsson.

Whales in the North Atlantic[edit]

Four different whales are shown on the set of four of 6 June. Again was the design by Bárður Jákupsson.

Steffan Danielsen[edit]

The last edition for 1990 was issued on 8 October. It shows four paintings by Steffan Danielsen (1922-1976) from Nólsoy, his home island, he painted so often.
