de-adminship

hi!

For now I do not care if I'm admin on commons or not, cause I have a lot of work in real life. But I would like to say that using bot to inform people that they have to sign something in such case is not right. Last month I was looking on commons nearly every day but I didn't read information on my talk page, cause I saw in observed that it's bot edit, so I ignored it.

I do not care for now, but I think it's very unfair to other people.

It's not a Spanish word. It's my coinage. At first I tried to use Satyr as my username when I created an account a few years ago but someone already used that. So I tried other words like Satir or Saterus in vain until I get Sateros for my nickname. Since then until now no one has complained on the nick so I don't think it's inappropriate to use in Commons.--Sateros (talk) 19:04, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

I think you deleted it as it resembled an advertisement, but it was just to include the name of the firm that was not in the list of companies in an area.

I would like to ask an explanation for the same.

If wikipedia is for useful resources then it should contain all the useful resources.

I called myself a troll

Honest. I called myself a troll and it was accurate since I was reading that talk page. Unable to read german, yet the word "troll" and my name were used in the same sentence.

Heh, thank you for removing that template. To answer your question, I was using the terminology that was in that sentence which included my name. My experience with the internet has been a little backwards -- the first germans I communicated with were fairly understanding of the things I wrote (perhaps due to the availability of movies and television and other similar presentations of the language). It seems weird to be now constantly warned about offending users from other countries. Well, even before that when I was in the international dormatory in 1980, it was my feeling then that the international students were less easily offended than what I am sometimes told now. This is a "digression" that I have also been accused of recently....

(Another attempt at an answer) I am not certain what to call it when I am "joining" on a talk page which is not mine and in a thread which came to my attention because the talk page is in my watchlist. "Troll" might be too strong a word for this. On the otherhand, I often have people join in on my talk page who I would like to call a troll. Language is difficult.

Recently, I answered a claim from a new admin here that they are "willing and able to learn" that was put on Orchi's talk page. User_talk:Orchi#Redirect_problems. I recently stumbled upon a category I had spent a lot of time and research with be kind of mangled in the name of reducing over-categorization. There were two sets of meteorlogical satellites (the first operational ones, actually). They had similar names but the first one had been subcategorized into the second one -- and I couldn't find it! I think that Orchi likes what I am doing with the taxonomy and perhaps even with the native species in the "Flora" categories that I made. I could be wrong. I had and still have no idea what the "Plants of" categories were about. The taxonomy templates are very cool -- there is nothing like it online anywhere else. Perhaps it is an abuse of the word "cool" the same way calling myself a "troll" was though. The evolution of the science of taxonomy reflects the evolution in the technology -- kind of. They count things like ribs on seeds and such to group them, heh. The four systems I am making display are in use online and at some of the wikipedias so it is quite within the scope. All of the other web sites pick one or invent their own. Occasionally, it feels like putting together a complicated puzzle. That is the enjoyment I get out of doing this.

I have some problems with some of the things I am doing, btw. "APWebsite" is a site which does not want to be a reference web site and not the web site that I am actually using -- when a software changes all of that to something less spam-like my discomfort will be eased. "APWebsite" is a document and a guideline from one of the ToL users.

That is many words about something you might not be so interested in. Too many? The example of the difference between the "Plants of" categories and the "Flora of" categories would get a laugh from most people I know in United States. User:Jdforrester

Hello, I am trying to understand why this user was desysopped at your request. On March 11, you warned this user that their admin rights on Commons would be removed if they did not perform 5 admin actions - User talk:Jdforrester#Inactivity. Jdforrester deleted 7 pages after receiving that notice: [1]. Nevertheless, you requested on meta that his admin rights be removed on August 31 [2] and they were. It does not seem to me that Jdforrester met the criteria for de-adminship at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship#De-adminship process as a result of inactivity - he had performed more than 5 admin actions in the past 6 months on August 31. Yes, but the tool told me on the day I checked it (wich was in fact a bit late) he did not perform 5 actions in the period of the last 6 month, wich is true. But I believe if he wants to have his tools back he could ask any beaurocrate (or me and I'll do the rest) to give them back, because its an unclear case. I hope this helps. Auch, wenn du wahrscheinlich sein gesetzlicher Vormund bist, hat dein Sohn meines Erachtens Urheberrechte. Das die Datei nicht von dir persönlich stammt war klar zu hören. Danach habe ich dich um eine Genehmigung des Urhebers an das OTRS gebeten. Da diese nach einer Woche nicht erfolgte musste die Datei gelöscht werden, deren enzyklopädischen Sinn ich aber auch noch nicht so ganz verstanden habe. Ganz einfach zu merken ist die permission-sache so: "Alles, was nicht vom Uploader selbst angefertigt wurde bedarf einer Genehmigung an das OTRS, es sei denn es ist anderweitig ersichtlich, dass die Datei frei lizensiert ist (z.B. entsprechender Eintrag auf der Quell-Website".
