Category:2006 Pacific typhoon season
Hello, I'm glad your Typhoon images. Could you please add your images also on the page of Category:2006 Pacific typhoon season after you add an image into the category? Because of many images, we are arranging each typhoon separately for the section.

Re: Category:2000s Atlantic hurricane impacts
Yes, putting them in that category is redundant. They can be found in that category by following the names of the storms. Good kitty 01:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi, Coredesat! I'm from Wikipedia, and I signed into commons to upload a picture (which I failed to, BTW). I've found an awesome picture (the icon on the upper-left portion of my message). I think it should be featured. Do you? And if so, can you please tell me how I can nominate the picture for featured? I'll need your help because my account here is less than a week old, unlike on Wikipedia where I have slowly been becoming more and more experienced for two months.
P.S.: I think that my main focus here on Wikimedia Commons will be involving featured pictures; taking them and nominating them. Signed, Commons newbie, Dylan620 | The village idiot babbles on 13:58, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
- [[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.
