Wrt the file File:VOO_logo.svg, User:Magog the Ogre has tagged it as PD ineligible, while the old version of the logo (File:Voo_logo_quadri_2.jpg), uploaded by the company, has been considered as being PD eligible. @Magog the Ogre: , could you explain to me why you marked the logo as-it. Because it was uploaded in a lossy quality format. Icons should not be uploaded in the JPEG format because it causes compression artifacts. Only photographs should be uploaded in JPEG. The SVG, on the other hand, does not, and thus is of higher quality when viewed on your screen. Is that clear? Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 02:41, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why you are answering me this. I know the differences between JPEG and SVG formats, this is why I uploaded the new logo with the color corrections in SVG instead of JPEG. My question was not about the formats but about the "PD ineligible" / "PD ineligible" category flag. I just wanted to know why the JPEG version uploaded by the company was considered as PD eligible and mine in SVG has been considered as PD ineligible. I thought PD ineligible meant "ineligible for public domain", thus my question. But actually, PD ineligible simply means a "public domain files ineligible for copyright". So my bad ;-) Nothing wrong here ;-) Just maybe if you could remove the JPEG version which has an incorrect color code. I had a chat with a spokesperson from that company and they want the JPEG version to get removed now they have a correct SVG version. Wget (talk) 11:45, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
