Please process the old categories after the move: either soft redirect with {{category redirect|new name}}, {{speedy}} or {{Badname|new name}} them.

Note: Please do not request name changes that you know may be controversial (this includes, for example, renaming locations into a different local language - even if "that is the official name used there"). Such move requests should be undertaken via {{move}} or COM:CFD instead, to allow objections - if any - to be made on the talk page. All moves have to follow the language policy for the category namespace. Please include, as far as possible, interwiki's in categories to be moved.

Note: If you challenge a request added here please simply remove it and kindly inform the requester about your reason. Invite him to open a formal request via {{Move|new name}} or COM:CFD to discuss the requested name change.

Note: To avoid World War III, CommonsDelinker will ignore a command to rename an image if the new image is svg and the original is not.

Note: It is up to the category move requester to adapt all references ("What links here" tab) to the moved category as needed. This part of the task is not automated. Shortcut: COM:DL
