Hello,
I'd need to know why the "non-commercial/educational" permission is "not acceptable" on the "free use provided that" tag. If the copyright holder has explicitely stated that he authorizes non-commercial reproduction, that should not make sense. Thanks for your help. JJ Georges (talk) 09:02, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I just asked you this question because I want to make sure that I understand all the rules here if and when I want to upload images. Quite simply, the fact that we're not supposed to include images even when the copyright holder states that they're free to use for non-commercial/research purposes (which is exactly what wikipedia does) doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I hope the links you sent me help me understand this (I just hope I can find a clearly-written rule and not just talk pages between users). To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

[edit] Commons:Language policy
Hi, in an effort to move the Commons:Language policy closer to completion, I have been editing it and cleaning it up for the last few days. I have tried to make the page as neutral and consistent as possible with the relevant policy and guidleine pages that it cross references.
I would appreciate it, as someone who has discussed some of these policies in the past, if you could look at Commons talk:Language policy and contribute your thoughts. This is the version that exists as I am writing it and I am encouraging everyone to consider the "static" page until everything gets sorted out.
