Galleries[edit]

Commons policy prohibits single image galleries. Are you going to add more to these? Perhaps you should combine them.

If you have questions, you may ask them at the Village Pump in any of 42 languages or on my talk page. I will also watch for questions here on your talk page for at least a week.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 13:49, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim, I am indeed going to add more photos to each of these. It's just taking some time to make sure we're thorough about the copyright (e.g. figuring out which photos were taken by DOE employees and which need a rights release from the lab). Should I mark the galleries with a note? --Geoff Olynyk (talk) 14:26, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Geoff. Since we delete about 100 new galleries every day for a variety of reasons, it's always helpful when creating a gallery that is not yet populated to either create it in a User subpage such as User:Geoff Olynyk/Sandbox1 and then copy it when it is ready for wider view or at least add {{Under construction}}. I would have deleted these routinely, but I've spent thirty years involved with the MIT Enterprise Forum, so I have a soft spot for the Institute -- hence the note.      Jim . . . . Hey Geoff, could you add a source for the "Actual funding" part of your excellent fusion budget graph, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:U.S._historical_fusion_budget_vs._1976_ERDA_plan.png ? -AndreasBM, 5/3 2017

File:Alcator C-Mod superstructure forging 1.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
