Pay attention to copyright
File:George Magnificent.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

These pictures are of this person https://www.facebook.com/100005704958765/posts/1913595742173906/

He allowed me to use his picture on Wikipedia. Luka imer (talk) 09:47, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For material previously published online by others, evidence of permission will need to be sent in by email. Please see the guidance at Commons:Volunteer Response Team. Please also edit the file description page, and correct the author and source fields with the name of the creator and the direct link to the source as you have stated above. --Paul_012 (talk) 10:09, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I read your link and sorry but I have no idea how to send permission. It says that writing "I allow Wikipedia to reuse my photos" is not enough. I have permission to comment on Facebook in Georgian. Luka imer (talk) 10:27, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the simplest way would be to ask the original author to add the following statement to the caption on the Facebook page you linked: "I, [name], hereby publish this photograph under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license." If they're not comfortable doing so, contacting Wikimedia Commons through email will be needed. --Paul_012 (talk) 10:27, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

" "I, [name], hereby publish this photograph under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license."

Okay, but he does not have any license, he just took a photo of the monument and posted it publicly on Facebook. Then I wrote to him on Facebook Messenger and asked to be allowed to use this photo for Wikipedia. If he will write this in English, then I should send a screenshot of this letter?

Or if he posts a photo of George the Magnificent publicly on his Facebook page with the caption: "I give everyone the right to use this photo for Wikipedia", will that be enough? If that's enough, then I'm asking you to send me a link to where I should post the link to this Facebook page. After reading your previous link, I could not figure out exactly where to send my license / link to use the image. Luka imer (talk) 11:51, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Luka. An original author can include that statement in the post of that picture. You can ask the author to do so for Wikicommons to be able to keep the image. Otherwise the image will be deleted as violation of rights of an original author. Best regards, Emperor of Emperors (talk) 16:25, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The author write in the post "I give everyone the right to use this photo for Wikipedia", is that enough? Or where should I send it now to no longer delete photos in Wikipedia?

Hi Luka! He should write the following: "I, [his name], hereby publish these photographs under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license." Regards, Emperor of Emperors (talk) 19:02, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"4.0 International license"

what does this mean? He does not have any license, he is an ordinary photo taken in Akhaltsikhe. Luka imer (talk) 19:17, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Luka! Regards, Emperor of Emperors (talk) 19:26, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Luka. We still don’t have the correct license. Please address it or it may be deleted in the future copvio claim. Regards, Emperor of Emperors (talk) 04:04, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
