Cartograms[edit]

Hi. Saw your Swedish cartograms and thought you might be interested in the request at en:Wikipedia:Graphic_Lab/Map_workshop#SVG_blank_cartogram_of_world_countries_by_population. /Lokal_Profil 18:30, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually looking for a vectorized world map but never managed to find one! The process won't be as straight-forward as with the Swedish map for a couple of reasons. I don't think those reasons are completely insurmountable but they do require a lot of work in processing the map, so I make no promises and ask for patience but no one would be happier than me if we could have some world cartograms in SVG format in the public domain. Thanks. Out of curiosity what are the relevant differences making it harder? /Lokal_Profil 16:42, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, first off the Swedish map is made up of straight lines whereas the world map is made up of some kind of splines (Bézeir curves I think). The other thing is that the world map has areas like San marino or Lake Irkutsk that are totally contained in another area. The Swedish map doesn't have those and my program can't deal with those. There are other small things like the ocean and lakes being areas and not "holes formed by other areas", but basically I need to make a custom converter for the cartogram program, which will be a fair amuont of work. Ok then I understand =). /Lokal_Profil 19:23, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Länkning till källor[edit]

Hej. /Lokal_Profil 19:00, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tack, jag tar itu med det. Skogssvinet (talk) 20:20, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
