General query

Hi, just so that I may understand the process better, why do you consider File:MuirsBygoneLpoolStPeter.jpg as not being eligible for speedy deletion as a duplicate of another image? The other (I consider, primary) image is the same but just brighter, but it's not a variant as such - it's the same image. I understand the csd tag covered this scenario. Thanks. Hi Bungle, a duplicate file here at commons need to be the same file type, same quality (eg. not a brighter version) and some other points. aus den Bildbeschreibungen zu deinen Aufnahmen

Gilt das Limit aufgrund der konkreten Ausführung des Moosbrunn-Exemplars oder ist das (auch) laut Herstellerspezifikation für diesen Antennentyp? Rohde und Schwarz hat diese Antenne nicht (mehr) gelistet aber im National Association of Broadcasters Engineering Handbook, 11th Edition wird sie als 250kW Rotatable Rohde and Schwarz Log Periodic Antenna. Das Buch nennt eben auch solche größerer Leistung doch ein anderes schreibt auf S 144, dass Log-Periodics eher nur "up to 100kW" gebaut wurden, weil das Design viel mechanischen und elektrischen Stress mit sich bringt.

Möglich wäre auch eine Limitierung durch die Betriebsgenehmigung, aus technisch/organisatorischen Gründen oder die Angabe rührt nur von der damaligen Verfügbarkeit an stärkeren Senderbaugruppen her, also falls die 300/500kW-Sender schon anderweitig eingesetzt wurden.

Hi Web3Punkt11, ist schon eine Zeit lang her und ich muss vorrauschschicken: Ich bin auch nicht mit dem Sender Moosbrunn/ORS irgendwie verbunden. Wenn Du diese Details genau abklären willst, wäre es am Besten dies direkt an der Quelle mit der ORS und dem techn. Sendebetrieb zu klären - es kann durchaus sein, dass ich damals bei dem Besuch und Aufnahmen Dinge unpassend wahrgenommen habe und sich Detailfehler eingeschlichen haben. Ob die max. Antennenleistung durch den Aufbau oder durch regulatorische Bestimmungen vorgegeben ist, kann ich also nicht sagen.

Wie auch immer: Im Regelfall bezieht sich eine Anntenenleistung auf den (unmodulierten) Träger. Bei AM kann es, abhängig von dem Basisbandsignal, zu ehrhebelich geringeren mittleren (!) Leistungen kommen. Als Sendeanlage wird primär, meines Wissens, der digitale (=DRM-taugliche) TSW 2100 D von Thomsen, verwendet, der hat lt Hersteller max. Ausgangsleistung von 100 kW und verwendet eine de:Pulse-Step-Modulation welche im Aufbau sehr interessant ist -> File:Moosbrunn TSW2100D Modulationsstufen.JPG. Diese und einige weitere Aufnahmen und die Infos dazu sind im Rahmen einer techn. Flickr Bundeswehr

Hallo, ich habe gesehen, dass sie die Bilder die ich hochgeladen habe, gelöscht haben. Ich war jedoch mit der Mediendatenbank der Bundeswehr in kontakt. Diese hat mir bestätigt, dass die Veröffentlichung in Zeitungen, Zeitschriften, Magazinen Print und Online, Sach- und Lehrbücher für die politische Bildung und die Einblendung in Nachrichtensendungen der Bilder auf dem Flickr-Account der Bundeswehr gestattet ist. Meiner Meinung nach darf Wikipedia demnach die Bilder für Bildung verwenden. Auf Commons:Licensing/de#Bekannte_Lizenzen finden Sie eine Zusammenstellung als Tabelle, welche der CC-Lizenzen auf Wikipedia bzw. hier auf commons erlaubt sind. gelöscht. Die Bildrechte liegen beim Stadtarchiv Stuttgart, das die Verwendung bei Wikipedia gestattet hat. Das gilt für alle weiteren Bilder aus der Serie, die jetzt wahrscheinlich auch alle nach und nach gelöscht werden. Warum wurde das Bild gelöscht bzw. wie sollen die Bilder hochgeladen werden, damit sie nicht wieder gelöscht werden?

Lieber Herr Kuhn, die Freigabe unter einer freien Lizenz durch den (exklusiven) Rechteinhaber bitte via email an das COM:VRTS schicken zu lassen. Unter diesen Link ist auch der Ablauf und mögliche Textvorlagen für die Freigabeerklärung angeführt. Ist die Freigabe plausibel wird diese mittels eines "VRTS-Tickets" in den Daten zum Bild dokumentiert (die Ticketnummer stellt einen Verweis auf die nicht-öffentliche email-Kommunikation im VRTS dar). Eine Aussage hier im wiki, dass die Datei vom Rechteinhaber unter freier Lizenz (in diesem Fall CC-BY-SA-4.0) freigegeben wurde, ist nicht ausreichend.

Hinweis: Eine Freigabe, welche nur die Verwendung der Bilder im Rahmen der Wikipedia erlaubt, ist keine Freigabe unter einer freien Lizenz. Um solche Unklarheiten zu vermeiden ist es zu empfehlen die Textvorlagen für die Freigabeerklärung zu verwenden.

Hinweis2: Eine Freigabe kann jederzeit, auch zu einem gelöschten Bild, nachgereicht werden. Dann wird das Bild wieder hergestellt und die Freigabe mit den erwähnten "VRTS-Ticket" dokumentiert. Bitte laden Sie Bilder in diesen oder ähnlichen Fällen daher nicht nochmal hoch.

Duplicate revert

Für Fehler, die nunmal passieren, gibt es unter anderem zur Korrektur die Löschprüfung wo dies auch angemerkt wurde. Es wurde nicht wieder hergestellt und bleibt gelöscht weil es unabhängig vom license review nicht dem Projektziel ("out of scope") entspricht.--Wdwd (talk) 11:17, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi, a speedy deletion of a file is only possible under some specific circumstances listed here. For example at "Author or uploader request" only in the first few days after the upload, mainly used as a correction for a mistake. You also mention in the comment for files like File:Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Surma (P313) for display.webm that the file should be deleted because: "New video uploaded with better quality, that's why old version is requested to be deleted.". And this in never a valid reason for a deletion (ether speedy deletion or regular deletion). If you want to update your old file for some reason, that is fine, just upload the new file version over the old one. There is no need to delete the old one and the new file version will be shown immediately after the upload.--Wdwd (talk) 08:28, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

My team would like to know if it is possible for the top finalist sound logos in the contest to have attribution temporarily hidden from public view until all the votes are final? The idea is to let the public judge the sound logo contestants based on the merit of the logo, not the person or people who made it. Again, any feedback is appreciated.

There is no evidence that this file is under a free license at "Champéry Tourisme", so the default state applies and this is: "(C), all right reserved". Hi. @Xharin: did a bunch of nominations of Roman coins starting with File:Define_Vadisi.132.jpg because the images were deleted from the sources website. The images are clearly PD and in scope though. Plus, it shouldn't matter that the source page was deleted. So is there any way that the nominations can be procedurally closed without me or anyone else having to vote keep on all 45 nominations individually? Thanks. As mention in the deletion request, you need to get permission under a free license from the original photographer or copyright holder. Unfortunately for you Wdwd "Not educationally useful" is a valid reason for deletion which is essentially what I nominated this under but either way you still haven't answered any of my 3 questions above which I will ask again

There is no reason to delete this file, which has proper categories/description. You have to give a reason why this image should be deleted - not questions why to keep. That is the wrong way around. --Wdwd (talk) 09:11, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello Wdwd! You recently uploaded a new version of File:DCF77_code.svg, stating that you could not see the percentage marks. However, you also changed the lower label! You changed it from 15% to 20%. I've uploaded a new version with the 15%, but I'm interested in what is even going wrong for you that you can't see it. The file has increased in size threefold by converting the text to paths, it would be better if we had text that worked for everyone. I don't have any problem seeing the text and I don't see what's special about it. Everything in the file is DejaVu Sans, so it seems either all text should be legible or none. Can you indeed see all the other text, the 0's, the 1's, the 0.2 s, 0.1 s and 1 s, the axis label t ? There was something strange: for the two axis labels (amplitude and t), the <text> tag specified a font of Sans, but the inner <tspan> specified DejaVu Sans. I don't know much about SVG and XML, but it seems harmless enough (I did edit it out, though). So my question is: do you know why you couldn't see that specific text (percentage marks and amplitude axis label are the ones you changed to paths), and can we perhaps change the text so it does show? 18 KiB is still a small file, but it is three times as large as it was. But frankly, I just feel that text should be text in SVG files, unless there is a really pressing reason. I hope you want to help me figure this out! Hi Digital Brains, i also don't know much about SVG and why the conversion from SVG to PNG (done at wikimedia server side) doesn't work sometimes. There are some issues with the rendering of SVG files in general and in this case maybe (not sure) something with the embedded font goes wrong like this: Help:SVG#Not_displayed_text_(Flowed_Text_bug). So I converted some of the not shown text elements to path elements which work fine.

Second point: I changed the label, because 15% (lower amplitude level) is not correct and to low. Also my change to 20% was not correct, sorry for that. I checkd it again, and the correct low level amlitude in AM is 25% according to this original source: [1] chapter 4.2 page 351 ("Amplitudenmodulation (AM) und Zeitkode"). This DCF77 document from the ptb.de is in german. Could you change the text from 15% to 25%?--Wdwd (talk) 12:20, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi Wdwd. I don't have the time right now to look at the SVG/PNG issue closely, but regarding the amplitude: the DCF77 talk page on the English Wikipedia discusses that the reduction was different at different times, but that now it is, according to them, 15% amplitude corresponding to -16.5 dB power. Those figures are also in the article. The German article also says 15%, the Spanish and Polish articles don't mention a figure. The Dutch article says 25%, the French says 15%. I'm guessing the one that doesn't say 15% is simply not updated to reflect the new situation, but I'll look at sources later.

Regarding SVG to PNG, the Wikimedia server SVG to PNG seems to work correctly; looking at the URL I think I could get it to convert older versions to PNG for me:

• First version
• Second version
• Third version
• Current version

All but the third (your version) omit the marks for the 1 s period; this is the first time I notice this. But they all do have all the text.

Hi Digital Brains, thanks for you answ. Add AM level: There are different (original) documents from PTB available and the specification for the lower level of the amplitude differ. Beside the PDF I mention above which gives the info 25% (it's from 2004) the PTB also give the info, that the low level of the amplitude is about 15% (see here [2], unknown date) So, at the moment I'm not able to tell which one is the correct value, maybe it changed over time.--Wdwd (talk) 16:11, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
