How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Update der Stimmenzählung bei Deinen FPs

Hallo Alexander,

ich versuche gerade die letzten Livio/C.-Stimmen durchzustreichen. Das betrifft auch zwei Bilder von Dir. Du hast ja ausdrücklich erklärt, dass Du nicht möchtest, dass sie (nach dem Entfernen der Sockenpuppen-Stimme) promoviert werden. Ich möchte das auf den FP-Nominierungsseiten möglichst transparent und klar darstellen, damit das auch für künftige Maintainer klar ist. Schau bitte mal, wie ich das hier bei Deinem ersten Bild gemacht habe:

Размещение чужих фото

Участник регулярно загружает "картинки из Интернета", помечая их как свои. Ладно бы просто загружал, так он их ещё и активно продвигает в статьи, а это уже недопустимо. 37.113.230.105 13:04, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

• По предыдущему товарищу возможно ошибся, не со всеми тонкостями процедуры загрузки чужих изображений знаком. А вот здесь человек загружает фотки представителя производителя в СНГ, возможно он сам им и является. Файлы моего авторства на удалении

Учитывая Ваше предвзятое отношение к теме моей новости об аттракционах в "Острове Мечты", я расцениваю вынесение фото с аттракционов на удаление как продолжение деструктивного поведения, начатого в комментариях к репортажу на Викиновостях. Хочу обратить внимание на то, что фото аттракционов авторства других людей также размещены в статье об этом комплексе на Википедии, и в случае, если Вы добьётесь удаления моих фото, мне есть на что их заменить, взяв файлы из википедийной статьи, однако Ваше поведение видится мне направленным не на пользу проекту. Я вынес на удаление не фотографии аттракционов, а производные изображения от несвободных объектов, такие как вот эта. На Викискладе, в отличие от вашего проекта, такие изображения не подлежат размещению под свободной лицензией. --A.Savin 02:58, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Александр, добрый вечер! Я недавно переоформил {{tl|president.e-dag.ru}}. Подтверждающее письмо на Викисклад было выложено в 2014 году, однако сайт так и не разместил лицензию на странице, а инициатор перевода материалов на свободную лицензию не выслал подтверждающую копию в систему VRTS. Как "аватар" города заглавное фото выдается гуглом и при других запросах по Новгородской области и Окуловка может быть представлена гораздо привлекательнее простой сменой ваших фотографий. Здравствуйте. По-видимому, вы имеете в виду фото в элементе Викиданных. Правьте смело, но вообще для карточки города ни то, ни другое фото по-настоящему не подходит. Здесь в идеале нужен какой-то общий панорамный вид или же съёмка с коптера. Sorry to bother you but I need some clarification...

I don't care much about the "Category:Uploads by", so I never fill it (to my mind, it looks a little too much like a proprietary claim, all the more superfluous given the file history).

However, Matlin uploaded a cropped version in order to overwrite my originally uploaded file before reverting it all, going back to the previous file, then adding "Category:Uploads by Matlin". [1]

I'm not interested by causing a scandal because of this ridiculous case but I notice that you have previously blocked this contributor, so just for my information: does his shabby reasoning comply with the W. Commons recommendations in this respect ?

Basically I agree with you, however the scope of user categories on Commons is not as strictly limited, and for my part I cannot name a rule which would prohibit this approach. Yes it's childish and uncivil, but still below the level where I would immediately impose a block. I wonder if File:Jacques Bainville - photo Frédéric Boissonnas.jpg shouldn't actually be merged into File:Jacques Bainville - photo Frédéric Boissonnas (cropped).jpg. Коллега, добрый день!

Занимаясь расчисткой категорий я натолкнулся на фотографии участника Sergey Korovkin 84. Вот пример типичного фото. Данное фото имеет совершенно рандомное название, содержит ватермарк, так ещё и ссылку на блог автора вместо описания. А уж на странице участника так и вообще реклама услуг риэлтора во весь экран (как и на его сайте). На мой взгляд это явно повод для бессрочки (участник уже несколько раз блокировался на разные сроки), на что хотел бы обратить ваше внимание как администратора. Ну и заодно хотел бы понять, имею ли я право зачищать описания изображений от ссылок на посторонние ресурсы, поскольку в прямую такого в правилах не увидел?

Free "PD-UA-exempt"- license does not apply to photographs. Only to published "Official documents issued by government authorities of a political, legislative or administrative nature (laws, decrees, regulations, court decisions and state standards, etc.) and their official translations" The link is given to a message on the "Cargo-200" Twitter account [2] that says these photos allegedly "was published by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Mikhail Fedorov" without any link to the publication itself. "Cargo-200" it is a not official account of ukranian goverment.
Also, as I think, that this photos cannot belong to the public domain, because Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Copyright and Related Rights” (to which the license "PD-UA-exempt" refers) states that "public domain is works and objects of related rights, the validity period copyright and (or) related rights for which has expired;" I unlikely that these photos had their copyright expired in 1 day. I think that these materials definitely cannot be placed under the free license "PD-UA-exempt". In general, there is no confirmation that these were published in official documents of the Ukrainian state power.

When i saw your messages in the firt days of this dreadfull putinist (not russian) war of agression, despite what happened a few years ago between us, i meant to leave you a message of support of your continuation in Commons in what must be a terrible and dificult times to you, but for unrelated reasons, it didnt happen, but now i, sincerely, hope that is everything ok with you and wish you well.

I also find some blank comments about any russian, just because someone is russian, abhorrent and xenophobic (russophobic), comments like the ones you point in your userpage. Personaly i have nothing against russians, just because they are russians (or any other nationality, ethnicity, religion, etc) and i dont hold any personal grudge against you or your people.

Simply, as you, i´am against this putinist (and not russian) and the real "party of crooks and thieves" (Putin, Kadirov, Lukashenko and their cronnies and enablers) and hope that this war ends quickly and without any more spill of civilian and military blood (i.e. the russian military withdrawing unilaterally and dont giving a damm about the dictator Putin and its cronnies), albeit given the current circunstances, i think that, to be honest and unfortunelly and with much blood spilled, the "better" way to end this war is with an ukranian victory. I also hope that at the end of this war there happens an real democratization of Russia and so Russia can again (re)adquire a place in the concert of nations.

Обратил внимание на то, что в своём авторском шаблоне Вы используете оригинальное англоязычное название проекта "WikiCommons". Это выглядит не очень корректным - насколько я знаю, англоязычное название сайта подобным образом сокращать не принято. Либо Commons (для употребления внутри движения), либо Wikimedia Commons (для внешних пользователей). Безусловно, оно предлагалось, в ряду других. Но не переименовали. А на Ваши фото люди смотрят как на образец (в т.ч. и в плане оформления ссылок на фото с Викисклада), и очень неудобно им говорить, что вот именно тут "не смотрите". Насчёт Вики мне ясно, что это не следует путать с Википедией, но WikiCommons едва ли можно с чем-то спутать. По-моему, всё это выеденного яйца не стоит, но в качестве выхода из положения могу предложить вообще убрать название проекта оттуда, если же я полностью пропишу Wikimedia Commons, фраза не поместится на одной строчке для 14-дюймового экрана ноутбука, это мне лично тоже не надо. --A.Savin 21:39, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi! Сегодня я создал „Category:Elections in Africa by year“, но не могу перенести в нее годовые категории. Они управляются шаблоном „Template:Elections in Africa by year“, поэтому в нем я добавил „by year“ где нужно (по примеру аналогичных шаблонов), но увы годовые категории не переходят автоматично в новую категорию. Why do you scatter the station names starting with the letter "N" into different letters (U, V, Z), but at the same time, instead of the letter G, did they make an asterisk? Sound Logo

Hello,

I am messaging you because a contest for a sound logo for Wikimedia is being developed and your opinion as a Wikimedia Commons admin is appreciated. My team would like to know if it is possible for the top finalist sound logos in the contest to have attribution temporarily hidden from public view until all the votes are final? dieser Edit einer IP scheint mir eindeutig Vandalismus zu sein, und zwar bewusster, so wie ich den seltsamen Änderungs-Kommentar “Hopefully the invasion of my privacy from a Wikipedia member” verstehe. Ich habe den Edit rückgängig gemacht. Kann/muss man da noch etwas tun, kann man z.B. diese IP auf eine Art Beobachtungsliste setzen? (Das war bisher der einzige Edit der IP.) Danke! – Fallen Dir eigentlich öfter Vandalismen an den Bildbeschreibungen von FPs oder an den FP-Galerieseiten auf? Gibt es da irgendein Muster, nachdem man potentielle Vandalismen suchen könnte, z.B. sind das meist Änderungen von IPs? Ich habe ein kleines Script geschrieben, mit dem ich immer wieder die FP-Galerieseiten und die darin enthaltenen FPs auf einige Arten von Problemen untersuche (z.B. um Bilder in den Galerien zu finden, die gar keine FPs [mehr] sind, oder um FPs finden, denen die {{Assessments}}-Vorlage fehlt, usw.). Ich könnte das Script ggf. um die Suche nach möglicherweise destruktiven Änderungen erweitern, wenn ich Ideen hätte, nach was genau ich es suchen lassen soll. Eine Suche nach Änderungen durch IPs wäre z.B. wohl möglich … Das Script würde sie mir dann auflisten und ich müsste sie eben überprüfen.
