I would like a vector version of this book cover to use in the Wikisource transcription of These Old Shades. I have requested retouching at Commons:Graphic Lab/Photography workshop#Crop and retouch File:These Old Shades 1927 cover.jpg, but there are unavoidable flaws in the image because the book cover is worn at the edges and has tape on it (I'll see if I can get a better image of the lower left corner, though), and a vector version which didn't have these flaws would look a lot nicer. —CalendulaAsteraceae (talk • contribs) 23:08, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello. I agree. The file was produced using the matplotlib library on Python 3. I do not know why, but when the graph is exported as an SVG, the text is turned into shapes, not vector text. G^ERME_NFER 13:54, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

@Mrmw: I think blue colour is good for this map as it has more shades to use that are easily distinguishable from one another. We could lighten each of the 5 given colours to make room for a 6th one.

@Soap Boy 1: and @Mrmw: I am of the opinion that using so many colours would make the map cluttered. You should consider using single colour like used in the map given on en:List of countries by GDP (nominal) (blue) or map given on en:List of countries by GDP (PPP) (green).

The thumbnail maker bug http://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T97233#8977673 has caused some numbers along the vertical axis to be duplicated and other text to be misaligned. The file has many problems.

I removed the #text nodes that followed a tspan element. That worked around the librsvg rendering bug and made the file render sensibly.

The file has duplicated labels. For example, there are two "4000 K" labels. Normally, the labels would overwrite and not be noticable. With the librsvg bug and inconsistent markup, it would cause the middle and end anchored text to be doubled. (not fixed)

For example, trsvg62 (no trailing #text node; end anchor on width of "2") and trsvg86 (has trailing text node; end anchor on width zero):

The insignia (and the flag of which has the same insignia) is incorrect. The flames located on the bottom of the insignia should have 4 tongues on the left, and 5 on the right as can be seen here by the official post as it supposed to symbolize the flames of 1945. Instead, what we have here in Wikimedia is 4 and 4 or exact mirror of the other side. The flames are located beneath the shield with the map of Indonesia. There are other nitpicks such as the feathers on the neck being different but I think the most important one is the flames. If anyone can edit it, please do. It would be greatly appreciated. It's almost the same as the current state flag (above-left), with the only differences being the addition of the motto "Live Free or Die" (in Times New Roman font) beneath the seal-and-wreath, the seal-and-wreath reduced in size to make space for the motto, and the seal itself replaced with the version provided above-right (which is similar to the one on the current flag, but not the exact same). Hello, I do not want to start trouble or anything but for a month now, I’ve been trying to get an emblem reverted due to its inaccuracy. However, user Fry1989 has come up with a good compromise of combining both elements from each digitalized emblem in order to resolve this dispute. I am still new to Wikipedia and don’t really know how to solve the issue. I uploaded a video where I used editing software to compare the old digitalisation of the emblem to the new digitalisation of the emblem, using book covers from published works by the Republic of Afghanistan (1973–1974). Because I am on mobile, and due to the editing app I use, if I was to combine both elements of the emblems, it could come out as low quality. What I want is for the text on the new digitalisation to be put onto the old digitalisation. That is all.

Don’t allow me to dictate what you think is right friend, but the number “۵” in the emblem does not have the line pertruding inside it. Use the text of the version that Fry1989 was in favour of as inspiration, as it is more legible and accurate. I am in favour of the text used in the current version, and I have consulted with my uncle who was an officer in the Afghan Army under the Republic of Afghanistan. • the green line (sliding rail) lower down
• A new line showing the door opening with at the end the turningpoint of the yellow line
• The yellow line passing beyond the green line (the turning point is on the new line)
• The blue line (doorpanel) and connection to sliding rail is not a straigth line. The actual panel (with windows) has the show the orientation. The panel does an 90 degree turn.

I do not know the font. It has a two-story "a" but a one-story "g". The font "Trebuchet MS" shows the gist, but has the wrong "g" and "M".

I think it may be Helvetica Bold or a similar font, with adjustments to the a so it resembles a @. Not sure about the smaller font at the bottom, though. only found a few fonts with a double-story atsign. Tahoma and Verdana have double-story "a" characters, but single-story atsigns.

A hack would use the Trebuchet MS atsign and Helvetica/Arial for the rest. But many users (and WMF) do not have Trebuchet MS.

A better method than trying to match the font would trace the characters and then employ the filters.

Article: AC/DC

There's already an AC/DC logo, but my problem with it is that it doesn't resemble such in official products due to the bolt being too far from "AC" and a little unaligned as the slash. In official material (references here and here) the bolt is sized and aligned enough to barely touch the C & D without overlapping either, and the top of the bolt is also connected with the upper-left point of the D. I'm requesting another logo with such details, basically. And just to be safe, could there be two variants of it? One in flat black and one in red and with a gradient, both transparent. Coat of arms of the Soviet Union (1936–1946).svg is the only vector file of the 1936 coat of arms of the Soviet Union. However, it's a poorly vectorized version since it's a bitmap tracing of a raster image. It's also not the most accurate to the official design as approved on May 27, 1937 (shown below). Could somebody please revectorize that image to make it a proper vector image and also an accurate representation of the official design? Just a few more things though... perhaps Washington's head could be made bigger, so that the top of it is closer to the rim of the circle, as it appears to be in the link? Also, even though I'm rather uncertain about it myself, I'm also inclined to think that the central circle from the flag in the link is meant to be light blue (albeit a much lighter shade than the modern seal). Presumably because Jimmy Page's symbol was seen as unique/original enough from the public domain sigil, and is protected under U.K. TOO as well. Moxy considered Page's logo to be original. The discussion (April 2021) also took place over a year before the upload of the 1847 sigil (August 2022), so I theorize there hasn't been a reevaluation yet. @Fvasconcellos: I'm inclined to believe that the square shape of the flags is indeed just a quirk of the source.
