✓ Done See File:President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton arrive at Aukland Airport, New Zealand on 11 September 1999.jpg --Sreejith K (talk) 05:49, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sreejithk2000, my upload "dimensions" is listed as "34KB" and the other photo is "25KB" - can you please, explain what that difference means? Thank you, -- Ooligan (talk) 07:09, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your photo is a cropped version of the other. Its a few pixels smaller than the duplicate. But somehow your cropping tool increased the file size a little bit when it cropped. --Sreejith K (talk) 21:24, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sreejithk2000 I never cropped this photo. Perhaps it was cropped by the White House staff back in 1999. So, you are saying that the cropping of the photo by unknown person(s), somehow increased the total kilobytes of the photo file. How did you determine that my upload was cropped? -- Ooligan (talk) 21:52, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One image has dimension of 395 × 242 while the other one is of size 400 × 245. Very minute difference, but still more or less the same image. Can we delete the duplicate now? --Sreejith K (talk) 06:17, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This file here: File:President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton arrive at Auckland Airport.jpg, in your own words is "very minute difference" was uploaded 47 minutes after my upload . My uploaded photo was then labeled by this same User as a duplicate and was tagged for "Speedy Deletion."
This 1999 photo of President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea Clinton had not been on Wikinedia Commons for 25 years, but my first upload of this photograph existed on Commons only 3 days, before being nominated for deletion using the wrong process.
As you wrote, "your photo is a cropped version of the other." My current undersanding is that "cropped"/ "extracted" files are not treated as a duplicate as quoted, in part, below.
"Note: if it is a work that is very similar (or identical) to another, but not an exact duplicate, it’s a redundant file, which mandates a different procedure. See below:"
"Redundant or low-quality files only get deleted on a case-by-case basis after they are listed at Commons:Deletion requests. At deletion requests you will need to provide reasons why a particular file is inferior to the alternative version (for more information, see Commons talk:Superseded images policy)."
Please, process my file and other similar files in the future, as redundant files- even when they are incorrectly tagged as "duplicate." Also, thank you for helping my understand better what happened here, because the "speedy deletion" process for tagged duplicates, does not require notification of the target upload, nor the opportunity for the uploader or any other User to make comments like the regular deletion process. Respectfully, -- Ooligan (talk) 21:42, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:Phil Saunders, 19th Attorney General of South Dakota.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
