Floralia[edit]

Beste Henk,

HenkvD (talk) 15:10, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments 2020[edit]

WLM-Banner-Bg.jpg

Hallo HenkvD,

Veluwe?[edit]

Re [1]

Why remove these images, clearly in Veluwe, from Category:Veluwe?

Similarly [2]

What's the distinction betweem Ermelo and Veluwe here? Should the categories be renamed as well? Andy Dingley (talk) 10:17, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Code issues in User:HenkvD/common.js[edit]

Hi HenkvD, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:HenkvD/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 15 new jshint issues — the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

Category:Snow in the Netherlands[edit]

Mijn voorstellen:
1a) Categorie 'Maastricht photographs taken on 2018-02-26' en ook categorie 'Maastricht photographs taken on 2013-03-13'‎ hernoemen naar Categorie 'Snow in Maastricht on 2013-03-13‎' of zo.
Alternatief
Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 18:58, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
OK, gedaan. HenkvD (talk) 19:06, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

hello?[edit]

The items for WA Wildlife were being offered for usage for WA Wildlife item editing, which is why it was loaded with the zero licensing - it would have really helped before you started deleting the category - to actually communicate ? JarrahTree (talk) 11:17, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The presentation is in process - the relative 'speed' to remove the categories without a query seems a little pre-emptive and might actually confuse the other editor involved in this process... JarrahTree (talk) 11:26, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi JarrahTree, the images are all kept in Category:Bibra Lake - WA Wildlife as well. The Category:Wikimania 2021 presentations is meant for the final presentations. See for example Category:Wikimania 2019 presentations. Please keep the presentations category clean. HenkvD (talk)
fair call, the current wikimania is very different, I had prepared the items for a process that I am not exactly fully involved in, so I am not in a position to comment really. JarrahTree (talk) 12:20, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Actually the category will need to be further split as there are multiple different forms of presentations. There will be the on-demand content, recordings of sessions(possibly divided again by language even building or day), slides of presentations, white board content, and pre & post production efforts. I created it as an initial catch all option. Gnangarra 01:23, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh and please sign up to help with Wikimania https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Volunteer especially the processes for uploading the content to Commons it'd be greatly appreciated. Gnangarra 01:25, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wikimania 2019 photos[edit]

Hi! I see you've taken a few photos of mine out of Category:Wikimania 2019 pre-conference days, but these were all taken during the official Wikimania 2019 pre-conference culture crawl. Did you mean to move them to Category:Wikimania 2019 Culture crawl? Deryck Chan (talk) 10:35, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Deryck Chan: These files were removed from Category:Wikimania 2019 pre-conference days, just because they exits in the subcategory Category:Wikimania 2019 Culture crawl. For example File:Wikimania 2019 by Deryck day 0 - 28 Medieval Museum.jpg. I now see that Category:Wikimania 2019 Culture crawl is a hidden category. So your files won't be visible for users who don't seen the hidden categories. Feel free to copy them back. HenkvD (talk) 11:13, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank, that makes sense. I've moved all my pictures of the Culture Crawl from Category:Wikimania 2019 pre-conference days to Category:Wikimania 2019 Culture crawl. Deryck Chan (talk) 13:05, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hallo HenkvD,

HenkvD (talk) 10:04, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

NARA TIF files[edit]

Hello there!

Please see admin User:Pi.1415926535 about categorized NARA TIF files. The problem is that the .tif and .jpg are exactly the same in quality and all sorts of problems result if Category:NARA TIF images with categorized JPGs is not used to prevent the tifs and jpgs from being in the same category. Regards, Krok6kola (talk) 12:52, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

OK, I did not know that. HenkvD (talk) 14:58, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Krok6kola: You don't need to ping me every time you inform someone about this category - it's not an issue I'm particularly involved with. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 17:43, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Imágenes mal localizadas[edit]

Hola. Saludos! MiguelAlanCS (talk) 08:28, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Translation by Google Translate: Hello. I see that you have removed the geodata from many photographs taken by me. I appreciate it, but I was hoping there was a chance that a bot would relocate them. The problem arose when I used the VicunaUploader tool that had a bug and incorrectly read the data recorded by the GPS of my cell phone. Anyway, I had a lot of badly placed photos, in view of Valladolid (Spain), in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Valencia. I hope there is a solution that automates the geolocation of these images, particularly because to continue taking photos, I use the WikiShootMe tool, and if they don't have the location template they don't appear on the tool's maps.
Sorry for answering in english. @MiguelAlanCS: . The correct GPS data is still in the meta data of your pictures. For example File:Remember tributo a Madonna (02).jpg. There are bots that will search for that and will add {{Location}} with the correct GPS coordinates. I don't know if that bot is still active or how fast it will be added. HenkvD (talk) 09:52, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you! I read (n understand) English, but I can't write as good as I want. [Ok, I'll wait for the bot, If it still works (I hope so).] MiguelAlanCS (talk) 11:33, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
