Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Trophies - Exhibition View, 2018.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Trophies - Exhibition View, 2018.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Dear Ww2censor,

I am not sure if this is the best way to reply to you. The images are on the following public access websites:

http://galerie-jovandeloo.com/exhibition/time-is-a-waste https://gig-munich.com/tag/tim-bennett/ https://www.tim-bennett.com

but I am not sure where I am expected to put the links.

I also have an email from the artist expressing his agreement, which I forwarded to the link given by wikipedia.

Any further advice is most welcome! M — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magdalena Wisniowska (talk • contribs) 13:07, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, the talkback template goes on my talk page to tell me your have replied here, you don't put it on your own talk page, just your response goes here. Anyway, copyright can be a rather complex issue especially for new editors, so I'll try to give you the basis lowdown. The vast majority of images found on the internet at publicly accessable websites are usually copyright to someone and require the permission of the copyright holder who is usually the photographer. More complex are images such as there which are of artistic installations or artworks. Such images are derivative works and any image of them, except for a few countries, requires the permission of both the artist and the photographer. This can be done by having the copyright holder, or in this case holders, verifying there permission under a free license. They can do this by following the procedure found at the OTRS Team page. However, currently there is about a 60 day backlog so you would need to be patient but if there copyright holders agree to provide the images with a free license, then you could add the template {{OTRS pending}} to each image. You may also want to familiarise yourself with the German freedom of panorama entry Commons:Freedom of panorama#Germany. It's quite complicated but hopefully this is clear and helps you, but please ping me, by adding {{ping|Ww2censor}} to any page where you would like me to review or advise you about. You can ask copyright questions at the Village Pump Copyright page. Ww2censor (talk) 21:38, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
