First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Leí el comentario que dejó cuando quitó la plantilla de supresión (lo que no se debe quitar antes que se acabe la discusión, entonces la repuse). Si resulta que estoy equivocado, lo sentiré mucho. El problema es que hay un usuario de Wikipedia en inglés que es El Polimata mismo, que está bloqueado. Él sigue creando nuevas cuentas para continuar de crear artículos sobre su mismo que cada vez terminan por borrarse. Hasta ahora el está la sola persona que haya creado un artículo sobre él o que haya contribuido información o imágenes al borrador (Draft). Voy a añadir este comentario también a la discusión de sockpuppet (usuario títere) en Wikipedia en inglés, en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/El Menor Mc.
Pero, una pregunta: Dijo que encuentra artículos sobre cantantes dominicanas por medio de una categoría. Pero el borrador de Wikipedia en inglés no está en ningúna categoría. ¿Cómo es que lo encontró?
I read the edit summary you left when you removed the deletion tag (which shouldn't be done until the discussion has ended, therefore I restored it). If it turns out that I'm mistaken, I will be sorry. The problem is that there is a user on English Wikipedia who is El Polimato himself, who is blocked. He keeps creating no accounts to continue creating articles about himself that, every time, end up deleted. Until now he is the only person to create an article about himself or to contribution information or images to the draft. I'm going to add these remarks as well at the sockpuppet discussion at English Wikipedia.
But, one question: You said you find articles about Dominican singers by way of a category. But the draft on English Wikipedia isn't in any category. How did you find it? Largoplazo (talk) 13:00, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
