You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Image extraite d'un programme télévisé

Bonjour,

Toute image extraite d'un programme télévisé est la propriété intellectuelle en terme de droit d'auteur de l'ayant-droit de l'émission, qui est généralement le réalisateur pour un documentaire, maison de production pour un talk show, chaîne pour un journal télévisé.

Il ne vous est donc guère possible d'offrir une licence Creative Commons sur un document qui ne vous appartient pas.

Le fichier File:Francois Caron.jpg a donc été supprimé pour violation de droits d'auteurs.

Si vous désirez offrir une photographie sous licence libre et l'héberger sur Wikimedia Commons, je vous invite à :

soit réaliser un auto-portrait ;
soit demander à un photographe de vous confier une photographie sous la licence libre de son choix, et de la téléverser en notant dûment le nom de ce photographe.

Hi, You or your neibourgh :-) killed a picture linked to a wiki blog... without any warning ! No reason to do. Except kacking !

Hi,

Wikimedia Commons hosts freely licensed media and tries to warrant 3rd party reusing our media they are really free media.

You'll find a message about the deletion rationale on User talk:FCaron.

If you've read the message before to come here, as your rationale “This is my picture, my person on it and my right to do, my firm is software editor (ISV) and video producer...” seems to indicate, you should so know why I deleted it, and so I'm a little bit surprised about your question if I'm «ayatolah or neerd». This doesn't seem really a professional attitude for a video producer. We thrive to have a nice and decent community, and so, we tend to frown upon such attitude.

Routinely, people upload screenshots of TV programs they aren't the producer, and routinely, we delete them. This is the uploader job to assert the media description.

If you really want to reupload your picture, please read the instructions at Commons:OTRS. You'll need to assert with scan of contracts you're indeed the video producer of this media. As soon as you'll have given sufficient proof, an OTRS volunteer will undelete the picture. If you don't follow this procedure and reupload it yourself, your media will again be deleted with the rationale « lack of proof the picture subject is the copyright holder ».

But seriously, a little note about the best interests of Wikimedia Commons and yours combined, and the simplest solution: you should upload a high resolution, crystal clear picture, not a blurry screenshot of a video. Especially if you want to allow people to print the photo in a paper brochure. IF you take yourself this photo or ask a person around you who accept to publish on CC-BY or CC-BY-SA, you can directly and simply upload it without any other complication than write your name or the photographer name in the author field.

1/ nous avons changé l'image par un portrait. La polémique est donc close cher monsieur !

2/ vos méthodes assez suspicieuses car ma société est aussi producteur vidéo, vous devriez vous renseigner avant toute chose et aussi mettre une phrase de politesse avec un peu de conditionnel, cela vosu éviterai des critiques justifiées :

CONSIDEREZ VOS INTERLOCUTEURS : cela reviendrait à mieux traiter vos interlocuteur et ne pas vous imposer en juge de droit, sans aucuen considération d'information préalable.

N'AFFIRMEZ PAS, TEMPEREZ : Je trouve le procédé très limite et pas à l'honneur de l'organisme Wikipedia qui devrait améliorer sa pratique, par exemple, "nous avons retiré cette image pour telle raison, mais il se peut que vous en possédiez néanmoins les droits et dans ce cas, etc...".

SOIGNEZ L'IMAGE DE VOTRE ORGANISME : Si vous voulez mon avis, c'est une erreur que considérer tout cas comme contrevenant sans préjudice du doute aucun ... Ce n'est et ne sera pas ma posture.

APPLIQUEZ LA LOI, NE L'INVENTEZ PAS : La présomption d'innocence fait droit savez vous dans notre pays... Et de telles dérives autoritaires sont plutôt assimilables à des régimes ou vous n'aimeriez sans doute pas vivre...

NE PRENEZ PAS LE RISQUE DE FAUSSES AFFIRMATIONS : Il s'agit selon vos termes "d'un programme télévisé" et bien pas du tout, vous vous êtes trompé !

PRECISEZ LES AYANTS DROITS : vous avez oublié "producteur", il se trouve que ma société est productrice c'est à dire chargé de capter, réaliser et représenter les droits ... (ce n'est pas un petit oubli semble-t-il).

Puissent ces remarques vous permettre d'améliorer le processus (bien sur si vous êtes adepte du progrès continu et pratiquant de la remise en question).

Ah oui à titre humoristique, sachez que je ne possède aucun droit sur le design (modèle déposé) des lunettes que je porte, dois je refaire la photo sans lunette ? Cela est-il aussi applicable pour ma chemise (de marque et modèle déposée), acceptez vous les photos de nu ? ... Vosu aurez compris que je plaisante, bien sur.
