Hiroko Matsumoto[edit]

Hello Mabalu,

Thanks for the Identification of Category:Hiroko Matsumoto. I found in the Historical Jewish Press some details about the visit of Pierre Cardin staff to Israel and the fashion photography day in Jerusalem. The two models named Hiroko from Japan and Françoise from France. The only model I can see with this name is Françoise de Stael (mannequin). I'll appreciate your opinion. -- Geagea (talk) 11:15, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I also found a Françoise Zastavnoi who modelled for Cardin in 1957 source. The problem I'm seeing is that there are two distinct models separate from Hiroko - a blonde and a brunette - and it is not clear which of them is Françoise. I don't think there is enough evidence to confirm which of the two is Françoise, let alone confirm that she was the model for Cardin in 1966 (I can't see anything on Google to connect Françoise de Stael to Cardin at all). this is Françoise in the middle. brunette. Hiroko in the left. -- Geagea (talk) 23:30, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Does that article just give their first names? I cannot read Hebrew. Mabalu (talk) 23:32, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, just the first name. -- Geagea (talk) 23:36, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Schade.... I'm sure the answer is out there, but it looks like most of Cardin's models were known by their first name at the time, and that makes research pretty tough. I would say, however, that this model is almost definitely not de Stael. Mabalu (talk) 23:40, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. And another model Aaida Category:Aida (model) (Japanese?). photos from 1963. -- Geagea (talk) 11:40, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do have to be honest here, I don't know an awful lot about models, I recognised Hiroko because she is SO famously associated with Pierre Cardin, but even then, I had to double-check it definitely was her before creating the category. I know next to nothing about most models other than those who are already well-known, or were so closely connected to a particular designer's work that I have learned about them via looking at the designer's work. I did have a quick look for Aida, but couldn't find anything immediately. So, sorry - I'm not the person to help you identify obscure models (unless they are British based, in which case the odds might be a bit better!) Mabalu (talk) 12:38, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, thanks for your efforts. -- Geagea (talk) 13:52, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
