FYI This image is no copyright violation. If you follow the source link, you get to the image description page on flickr. There it says clearly that the picture is licensed as CC-BY-SA 2.0. Of course the picture is copyrighted, also GPL licensed software or CC-licensed works are copyrighted - but they are licensed. Only old public domain works are not copyrighted anymore.Gorinin 19:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

I am so sorry about all of this, when I saw the description I misinterpreted the description as to mean that the Image had been made by someone else and copyrighted, and was posted to Flickr by someone else who was not the copyright holder and then incorrectly licensed as their own work, I did see that the page said CC-BY-SA 2.0. was the license but I thought that the Flickr User was not the actual copyright holder thus making the license in-valid and as a result I put it up for deletion. I truely apoligize for this, I simply thought that it had been made by a stock photo company which makes copyrighted Images for press use which are not allowed on Commons. There is no need to apologize. I appreciate your work for Commons. I just wanted to explain why this photo is ok. Perhaps I should have responded more moderately. RE: Flickr script

Hello Mifter, recently I saw you posted a message to Patstuart where you were wondering what you did wrong. Hi there, thanks for the help :), I have added the script, and cleared my browser cache but the script still does not appear to be working, I don't see any new buttons at the top tabs or in the toolbox sidebar, I am still not sure what is not working, I have used plenty of scripts on the en Wikipedia with no other problems, and I still am not sure what is not working :( if you have any other advice, I'm open to hearing it :). I'm using the most recent version of Firefox, and its not a beta, and I run Windows XP Professional Edition, I have refreshed my cache multiple times and I have tried adding the script multiple times in different ways. I've looked through your monobook.js and belive I know what's wrong, you did not add the correct script. Instead you added a "beta" script of it. Take a look at my monobook then go to my fifth line, and you'll see the flickr review script which you should add. I found the script which you seem to have added, it's here which is not the script you should have added, instead you should have looked through the link I gave you, where the script is on the front page. --Kanonkas_(talk) 09:49, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, The Image was deleted because it was licensed as Non-commercial only and per commons policy all Images have to be free for all use and that includes commercial, I am sorry if your Images was deleted, but unfortunately Commons only permits Images that are free in all uses. Really thanks! That's not the only template that the bot must ignore, so I wrote something for that reason. To tell the truth I should rewrite the script in order to recognise automatically what are the licenses are what not in oder to prevent errors, but I've not so much time :-( But, there's a list with all the templates to ignore and I've added also this one ;-) Now it should be ok, I've run the bot over the old images hoping to fix all the old ones ;-) Bye, --Filnik^{\b[Rr]ock\b!?} 20:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Problems with licence for image

I have a problem with providing a licence. Can you help? I found the image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Sierra_Cuzco.JPG I tried to improve it and loaded it up on "Commons": http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/05/Sierra02a.jpg But I didn't manage the licence problem. Until now I never used images that have been uploaded by someone else.

Hi there, I have gone through and fixed the license problem for you so now the Image should not be deleted and everything should be fine now, for future reference, when uploading a derivative work of a Image you can generally just go with the same license that the original is under, although you generally don't have to it is a good rule of thumb (The only time you HAVE to use the same license is under all Image under a Creative Commons License) All the Best, --Mifter (talk) 22:41, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.
