Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy.

Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.

  • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)

Ambulanze[edit]

Ciao. Hai fatto bene a segnalarle così (anche per l'ultima ho richiesto una conferma per i permessi per sicurezza), è probabile che si possa ottenere un'autorizzazione. Per la foto col marchio, se arriverà il permesso via OTRS non ci dovrevvero essere problemi a caricarne una versione con il marchio "sbiancato": se qualcuno protesta, la mettiamo in cancellazione, col marchio in bellavista non possiamo tenerla, anche se è una foto professionale. Stemmi comunali, provinciali, regionali[edit]

Ciao. Faccio un breve riassunto:

  1. it:File:Roma-Stemma.png
  2. it:File:Comuneroma.png: in sostanza un doppione di (1), forse disegno migliore qualitativamente
  3. File:Coat of arms Rome.JPG
    • su Commons
    • tag di avviso per i riutilizzatori: Template:Coat of arms, Template:Insignia (assenti)
    • status del copyright del disegno: GFDL + CC-BY-SA 3.0. Lo status del copyright non va bene, è una violazione di copyright; lo cancello, la fonte è l'immagine in it.wiki che è in fair use, non con quella licenza. Lo sostituisco via bot con la seguente,
  4. File:Coat of arms of Rome.svg
    • su Commons
    • tag di avviso per i riutilizzatori: Template:Coat of arms, Template:Insignia (mancavano, li ho aggiunti)
    • status del copyright del disegno: GFDL + CC-BY-SA 3.0 (questa è valida, è un vero lavoro personale)

Purtroppo su it.wiki non hanno ancora capito che una cosa è il diritto d'autore (in questo caso sulla definizione testuale dello stemma e sulla realizzazione grafica) e un'altra sono le restrizioni imposte da chi ne regola l'uso per motivi amministrativi e di sicurezza: da qui risposte assurde come quelle che leggo. Ma lasciamo perdere. Detto tutto questo, quale va usato? Abbastanza semplice: gli utilizzatori di tutto il mondo possono usare File:Coat of arms of Rome.svg, perché non sono soggetti alle leggi italiane, e l'uso degli stemmi è ristretto solo sul suolo italiano, non in tutto il mondo. Non c'è ragione di cancellarlo da Commons, dato che qui conta solo il copyright, non altre restrizioni locali (vedi Commons:Licenze o pensa solo alle restrizioni sull'uso del simbolo del partito nazista in Germania, vietato in Germania ma non certo in Italia, ad esempio). La definizione dello stemma di Roma, salvo indicazioni contrarie (ad esempio se lo stemma fosse molto recente) è PD: occhio, solo la definizione testuale ("Scudo di forma appuntata di rosso alla croce bizantina posta in capo a destra, seguita dalle lettere maiuscole SPQR poste in banda e scalinate, il tutto d'oro"), non il disegno (vedi {{Coat of arms}} o Commons:Coat of arms per maggiori informazioni). I cittadini italiani o comunque coloro che sono soggetti alle leggi italiane devono usare it:File:Roma-Stemma.png, nella speranza che venga prima o poi autorizzato (sarebbe meglio usare comunque la versione di Commons caricandola in locale e non quella prelevata senza autorizzazione dal sito della città di Roma; anche se sarebbe comunque sotto EDP per restrizioni extra-copyright sarebbe un atto di correttezza). it:File:Comuneroma.png è da cancellare, è un doppione inutile, probabilmente rimasto dopo che qualcuno ha caricato il file con il nome "standard" (al limite si può usare la sua versione trasferendola a it:File:Roma-Stemma.png, dato che mi pare leggermente migliore). Secondo me la scelta migliore è la seconda, più in linea con la politica del preferire il libero al non libero. Per problemi tecnici devi usare la sintassi {{StemmiComunaliItaliani|licenza=cc-by-sa-3.0}} , perché il template StemmiComunaliItaliani attualmente non funziona per l'indicazione di più licenze; ma va bene lo stesso, l'importante è indicare almeno una delle due - al limite l'altra la puoi indicare testualmente nel campo "Licenza" del template Informazioni file. Il file sarebbe licenziato in GFDL + CC-BY-3.0, riferendosi al disegno, ma rimane comunque sotto EDP perché in it.wiki è un file non libero (un file può essere non libero per questioni di copyright ma anche per questioni extra-copyright, come in questo caso). La regola generale da tener presente, riferendosi agli stemmi di amministrazioni italiane naturalmente, è sempre la stessa, file in locale su it.wiki (preferibilmente dopo aver ottenuto l'autorizzazione) con relativo tag di avviso specifico (StemmiComunaliItaliani, StemmiProvincialiItaliani o StemmiRegionaliItaliani che sia). Che sia una versione data da loro o presa da Commons dipende dall'autorizzazione rilasciata: se il comune impone di usare il loro file allora va usato quello; se lasciano la libertà di scegliere o se si tratta di uno stemma ancora da autorizzare, a mio avviso sarebbe meglio "dare la precedenza" ai disegni liberi di Commons, evitando il fair use.
Una soluzione che avevo intenzione di proporre, quando ancora ero su it.wiki, per evitare questo casino di doppi caricamenti era di usare i file di Commons con un avviso per i cittadini italiani ed evuntuali autorizzazioni OTRS direttamente qui su Commons. Classificazione delle immagini[edit]

Ciao! Grazie per aver fornito immagini a Wikimedia Commons. Per favore, tieni presente che le immagini caricate su Commons dovrebbero essere utilizzabili da tutti gli utenti dei progetti Wikimedia; ciò è possibile solo se le immagini possono essere trovate dagli altri.

Per consentire agli altri di trovare le immagini che hai caricato qui, le immagini dovrebbero essere situate in qualche posto in modo tale da essere trovate attraverso la navigazione nella struttura delle categorie. Questo significa che dovresti inserire le immagini nelle categorie appropriate o posizionare le immagini in pagine per argomento (gallerie), o entrambe le cose (vedi Commons:Categorie). Per trovare le categorie adatte per le tue immagini, lo strumento CommonSense potrebbe esserti utile.

Puoi trovare una comoda visione d'insieme dei file che hai caricato in questa galleria.

La cosa importante è che le immagini dovrebbero essere inserite nella struttura generale da qualche parte. In questo momento su Commons c'è un elevato numero di immagini senza classificazione: se vuoi aiutare a sistemare qualcuna di queste immagini dove possono essere trovate, per favore fallo! Se hai qualche domanda puoi chiedere al bar italiano.

Dear DoppioM,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.
