Please do not remove the {{No permission since}} template. --MrClog (talk) 19:16, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The same goes for {{Copyvio}}, unless you follow the instruction on how to appeal. Continuing to violate this rule will lead to a block. --MrClog (talk) 19:19, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MrClog: Hello,

I would like to understand why do you think that the logo of the Communist Party (Switzerland) (File:Partito Comunista (Svizzera).tif) and the logo of the Swiss Communist Youth meet the criteria for speedy deletion. I represent the Communist Party (Switzerland) and I would like to know how to publish our logo on Commons with the following licences (we don't want to publish the logo under the CC-BY-SA license):

Public domain
This logo image consists only of simple geometric shapes or text. It does not meet the threshold of originality needed for copyright protection, and is therefore in the public domain. Although it is free of copyright restrictions, this image may still be subject to other restrictions. See WP:PD § Fonts and typefaces or Template talk:PD-textlogo for more information.

Trademarked This work includes material that may be protected as a trademark in some jurisdictions. If you want to use it, you have to ensure that you have the legal right to do so and that you do not infringe any trademark rights. See our general disclaimer.
This tag does not indicate the copyright status of the attached work. A normal copyright tag is still required. See Commons:Licensing.

I have seen that many Swiss parties publish their logo under that license (example: File:SVP_UDC.svg). I think that our logo meet the criteria to be labeled as a simple design.

Thank you in advance for your kind reply. --EgonCanevascini (talk) 19:25, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@EgonCanevascini: The hammer and sickle in the logo is not a simple geometric shape. Unless the hammer and sickle is a derived from someone else's work in the public domain. You said you represented the Communist Party. As such, you can release the work in the public domain by following all the instructions (if you don't follow all of them, it may still be deleted) listed here. I have placed a {{No permission since}} template on File:Partito Comunista (Svizzera).tif so you have 7 days to send permission. --MrClog (talk) 19:36, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MrClog: Actually the hammer and sickle in the logo is a Unicode symbol (see here for reference). That makes the logo a "simple geometric shape". --EgonCanevascini (talk) 20:33, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
File:Partito Comunista (Svizzera).tif has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
