Re: Coat of arms oj John Paul II

Thank you Goran tek, sorry, I don't come frequently onto Commons. I think it's perfect, you have my OK to upload your file as a new version of the previous one. Bye! --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 20:44, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Encyclopedie des arts visuels

Actually, I'm going to post one more reminder to try to get people to deal with that one. Don't archive it just yet, please. Thanks. DS (talk) 00:36, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Those are great! Thank you very much!

One small request: Could you increase the font size a little? I had to embed them very large in the article to make texts readable. Despite the large size, they are still a little small compared to normal text. --Patrick87 (talk) 16:43, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

@Patrick87: Increased from 14 to 18 hope that's enough. Maybe you can add some better categories for them also as it seems you have knowledge in this field. Get back to me if it's something more. --Goran tek-en (talk) 20:17, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, much better now! Actually I'm probably not more of an expert than you on the topic, but I added the relevant category anyway . Thanks again for the great work! --Patrick87 (talk) 20:51, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Legislature of Hawaii

Yes those are the correct individuals. Sorry about late response. Could you crop seperate version of these photos in jpg with the file names "name in 1886"? Since they are being used for w:Ministry of Finance (Hawaii), w:Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Hawaii) and w:Ministry of the Interior (Hawaii), I generally would crop them with head some background and part of torso. Thank you.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 21:30, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
@KAVEBEAR: I will do that but you have to give me the names of the files, both the original and the one I did and the names of the three men as I haven't got any of that material left and I don't remember. I do some graphic work and those minor things I don't keep any record of. --Goran tek-en (talk) 22:13, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Original file would be File:Legislature of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1886 (PP-27-8-002).jpg. Left to right should be named File:John S Walker Luther Aholo Paul P Kanoa.png (not to be listed as original): it would be File:Luther Aholo in 1886.jpg, File:John S Walker in 1886.jpg, and File:Paul P Kanoa in 1886.jpg.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 02:06, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
@KAVEBEAR: Now you can find them with those names. Why do you want them to be jpg and not png?
Jpg is a destroying file format (gets worse every time you open/save it) so for images of that low quality and small in size I would have preferred png but you specifically asked for jpg so that's what I did. --Goran tek-en (talk) 13:22, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

These three images are not really accurately drawn. I do have a PDF file which is a really good source on that topic. If I provide it to you, can you correct the files?--Antemister (talk) 13:03, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Yes I can so send it to me. --Goran tek-en (talk) 13:25, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
@Antemister: First you have to send an eMail to me, it is not possible to send files via wikimail.--Antemister (talk) 13:57, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
@Antemister: Now you can look at them here;
and give me feedback.
What did you want me to do on Flag_of_Mali_.svg, I used the colors from it but didn't find anything else to do. --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:03, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
OK, what did you do except changaing the colors? The issue is that the crosses have to be rotated by 45 degrees and strechted, so that that they look like Fihure 2 of the PDF. The flag of Mali is only a source for the colors.--Antemister (talk) 18:09, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for that my mistake, didn't just look at figure two. Now you can look at the flag of Katanga here:
For the Coat_of_arms_of_Katanga which figure should I go by, I can't see any in figure two? --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:17, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
For the CoA, please use the same crosses as for the flag. An official depiction does not seem to have been existed, but if you compare right, bottom, licence plate, the emblems [1] and [2], you can assume that the CoA has the same crosses as the flag. For the contours, I recommand rather thin black line like File:Coat of Arms of the Philippines.svg - once again it is ahrd to determine of red one where more common at that time, as black is the standard color. Don't know the shield from Fig. 6 of the PDF of the current one is right solution, but I tend to the PDF.--Antemister (talk) 09:45, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Look at the CoA here CoA.

OK, fine. Just for the CoA, perhaps a slightly thicker contour? In case you want to do the same for the other secessionst state during that time: I recently tried to change the colors of the File:Flag of South Kasai.svg to that of the File:Flag of Mali, and then I saw that the SVG is somewhat strange, as it contains a yellow traingle. Can you fix that? The South Kasai Emblem [3] is easy to create: You do not need to redraw the leopard, but you can use the one from File:Coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1997-1999).svg and put behind that letter "V", as numerous variants did exist of that image.--Antemister (talk) 13:28, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

They are now uploaded. There are some templates and other stuff on their pages that maybe has to be changed and I hope you can do that. Should there be the pdf-source also?
  • But that V is on all flags [4], which should it be?
  • with V this is correct one. As I opened the file with inkscape, I saw an additional yellow line horizontal on the top, which is not visible if you open the file in the browser. You fixed that. The yellow lines should be a bit broader and the I assume that the the spike of the V should be cut, like at the emblem. The photos [5] implys that, as even the hand-made, not really correct ones, cut the spike.--Antemister (talk) 15:41, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • without V no, was a misunderstanding--Antemister (talk) 15:41, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • South Kasai Emblem you can put the head there in many ways and should it be color or not. Give me feedback on it. The position of the head is really good, but the triangle with the motto is not part of the emblem (this is the cover of an official printing of the constitution of that state, I provided this image to the Hubert de Vries, the site maintainer) The letter V should be, in fact, white with black contours. Filename is "Emblem of South Kasai", Category:Symbols of South Kasai, licence "PD-Democratic Republic of the Congo". You do not need a large description, just mention hubert-herald.nl.--Antemister (talk) 15:41, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Eventually I will need the following;
  • Name of the file
  • Description
  • Category/ies
for it. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:31, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

✓ Done --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:11, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
The last you can find here: Emblem of South Kasai Thanks! Can you also replace the new crosses at File:Roundel of the Kantangan Air Force.svg? Then the whole issue is complete.--Antemister (talk) 18:58, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks on your update and corrections for the map File:Islam by country.svg

Hi.

Great job on the work you have done. Thanks. Serbia, without Kosovo, as you pointed out is indeed already correct.

I don't know how to create, change and upload SVG files (And I doubt if I will ever be able to learn let alone understand SVG) that's why I requested corrections. As I am totally unknowledgeable about SVG and not colorblind, I am afraid that I cannot give feedback in those fields. Sorry about that. If there is any useful feedback I hope I am able to give, is that the colorings are correct.

When it coms to finding information, the only difficulty is South Sudan. I could not find any definate number/percentages and established statistics about its religious makeup. When its religious makeup is mentioned, no percentages and numbers are given. Any information about its religious makeup is so vague, perhaps because of the problems in that country, but I am still looking.

Maphobbyist (talk) 21:26, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi Goran tek-en,

thanks for another fine image!

Some small requests for improvement:

  • The "Fe" label belongs to the "green" atoms, not the substrate.
    • Done
  • It's "electron beam", not "electronic beam".
    • Done
  • If you want to use a gradient on the electron beam it should be more Gaussian beam-like (e.g intense in the center and declining to the edges). Do not use a substructure as it is now.
    • Done
  • The border you applied to the electron beam is non-physical (strictly spoken a beam expands to infinity as described in the article linked above). This surely doesn't make sense to reflect in the SVG, but either a) just remove the borders or b) apply a gradient fading to transparency. Both would be fine.
    • I knew that but sometimes you have to draw things which is not there in the real world to make it work as an illlustration, that was my plan but I have removed it now.
  • The red wave lines could be shaped more like a sine wave (which will better reflect the wave nature of the emitted particles). The "crooked" lines in the current version look a bit strange (already did in the original version).
    • I went by the original but I changed now.
  • As always (sorry for that one ): Consider to increase font size! A good pointer is always to look at the image rendered with a width of 220px (default thumbnail size) as shown to the right. If the text is easily legible at this size it's certainly large enough; if it's not you should consider increasing the size. You can move the Fe(CO)5 a little to the lower right to save space and at the same time make room for the increased text size. And be aware that if you have increased font size in your OS/browser you might be delivered a version of the image that is actually larger than 220px. In that case either make sure to reset scaling to 100% or use the size of the surrounding text as a reference – the optimum would always be to have the same text size in article text and the embedded figures. This is not always possible but should be used as a pointer to the correct size.
  • This is also one of those things which is because I'm an image person and I want illustrations to be (in my eyes) beautiful. But I realize I have to put that aside as it shall work as an illustration somewhere. Sometimes I do think that it would be better to increase the size of the thumbnail in the article instead.

I hope I'm not too demanding and thanks again for the already good work!

  • No problem, this is the only way we can improve and get better.

--Patrick87 (talk) 18:31, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

P.S. I noticed that you marked the old file as {{Now Commons}}. This template is only meant to tag files which have an exact copy at Commons. The best way in a case like this is probably to also move the original to Commons in the process.

I have put my answers in your text above. Thanks for telling me things that improves my work here and my knowledge in general. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:29, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Great! It's close to perfect now! I also adjusted the template to point to the correct file on Commons now (and moved that due to a spelling error.
Only two minor things: a) There's a thin white line in the center of the beam due to aliasing effects and b) The beam should actually be most intense in the focus were it's actually getting less intense currently. --Patrick87 (talk) 19:50, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for correcting my mistakes, I will try to learn from them. Corrected the beam.
  • One thing I must ask is how you can upload files with the same name just different format, filename1.svg and filename1.png?
When I try to upload a svg version of a bitmap I always has to change the name by adding something unnecessary. --Goran tek-en (talk) 22:48, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
That's actually a bit tricky.
First of all the reason for this problem is that the duplicate filename detection was recently changed to treat file.jpg and file.JPG as the same filename (although it is not technically). The bad part is that this was done by completely ignoring the file extension when doing the comparison. Therefore even file.svg is recognized as the same filename.
The problem now is, that the UploadWizard does neither allow to upload over an "existing" file nor to ignore the warning. Therefore there is no way to upload an SVG image with the same name as a raster graphics with the UploadWizard.
However you can use Special:Upload for this task. It's an older version of the upload form which offers an option to "Ignore any warnings" at the bottom (directly over the upload button). However this even allows you to upload over an (really) existing file! Therefore you have to make totally sure the file does not exist before uploading a file using this method. --Patrick87 (talk) 23:47, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for that info. There is so much to learn here but I take it step by step. --Goran tek-en (talk) 12:49, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello!

Thank you for uploading File:Electron beam-induced deposition (schematic).png to the Wikimedia Commons. I noticed that when you uploaded from another Wikimedia project, you left out some important information, or copied it incorrectly. In the future, please consider using CommonsHelper, a tool which automates the process of moving files over. Thank you,

Uploading svg from SketchEl

Hello Goran tek-en, thanks again for your help with File:Andirobin structure formula.svg. I've been playing around with SketchEl a bit, an example I'm working on is File:Structure formula gedunin.png. I am experiencing some problems though: when I export an svg from SketchEl, I can't upload it to Commons. When I try to upload the svg through the Upload Wizard, I get the error message "This file might be corrupt, or have the wrong extension." When I use the old form, I get "This SVG file contains an illegal namespace 'http://sketchel.org'". How did you manage to get around this? LeRoc (talk) 13:31, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

I opened the svg in Inkscape (made some necessary changes) and then used the meny option File/Vaccum Defs (it removes some not needed code ). Finally I saved it File/Save as/ Plain svg (this saves it as a svg without any Inkscape stuff which is included in the Inkscape svg). Now it should work. At this link [7] you can check your svg file to see how it will look at wikimedia (because there are some problems with svg in some cases). Uncheck "Check this file for errors " because you want need that info. Hope it will work for you, if not let me see if I can help you. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:09, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
Hm, I did as you said. I exported the svg from SketchEl, opened it in Inkscape and clicked on Vacuum Defs (that didn't seem to do much) and saved as Plain svg. It seemed ok at svgcheck, but Commons won't upload it. LeRoc (talk) 16:59, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
No the Vacuum Defs doesn't show you anything, it's just in the code of the svg. Can you send the image (the original from SketchEl) to me in any way and I will see if I can find out the problem. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:47, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
The file should be here for a day. LeRoc (talk) 18:07, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
Right now I don't know what is the problem but I will continue to look. The strange is that I have downloaded the one I did before and then tried to upload it but get the same error message. I don't know if they have updated the upload and that is why it reacts different now then what it did before. I will see if I can find a way around this. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:48, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

I think I got it to work now, the upload gives it OK. You can fetch the file here. I did remove some code which originated from SketchEl (this is still included in the one I uploaded before...) and at the same time I changed the red to black in the letters/numbers as this was what you wanted before. This is a setting in SketchEl, colored or all black. I hope it will work and please let me know, it's good for the future, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 20:03, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Excuse me, if you don't mind there are two more limonoids for which I'd like to upload the svg's. I don't know how you removed the SketchEl code, so I can't do it myself. The files are here and here. The file names can be Carapin_structure_formula.svg and Epoxyazadiradione_structure_formula.svg respectively. The sources are here and here. The can both be in the category limonoids. I think these will be the last ones I'll need. Would that be ok? LeRoc (talk) 18:57, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

No problem but I would like to to look at what I get from the EL files. If you don't want it in all b/w you have to tell me but that is what you wanted before.
carapin
Epoxyazadiradione
Just let me know if they are OK or what to change before I upload them. Goran tek-en (talk) 19:22, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Yes, black and white is always ok. The carapin one is ok, but in the epoxyazadiradione it seems that you have both structure formulas in one file? LeRoc (talk) 19:30, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
This is what I got from the El file. As I told you before it seems as it sometimes contain more information than is intended.
Epoxyazadiradione maybe you have to reload the page to get the new image, tell me if it's what you need, thanks. Goran tek-en (talk) 19:43, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that's much better. I don't know if the double-file thing was my fault, in which case I apologize. Both files are ok to me now. LeRoc (talk) 19:47, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure what happens but if you close SketchEl after every one you created and the reopen it, it should not (I think so) contain any information about what you created before.
Now you can find your two files here;
Carapin structure formula
Epoxyazadiradione structure formula
You should check the description and I didn't know what to put in as source. --Goran tek-en (talk) 20:11, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
I have expanded the description and the source information for both files. Thank you very much for your work. LeRoc (talk) 22:42, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the help with that. --Goran tek-en (talk) 10:02, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

Combined crowned version

Could I trouble you to upload a combined crowned version of the two arms, i.e. like this one, but crowned (like the other two [8][9])? --DIREKTOR (TALK) 03:59, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Now it's here Coat of arms of Croatia and Dalmatia 1495 crowned. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:43, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Compatibility

Hello Goran tek-en, what do you mean with "I have an Illustrator svg that won't open in Inkscape" more concrete? Can you please give a file or something? I use both back and forth with no (big) problems. Greetings -- Perhelion (talk) 11:39, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

You would have to give me alink to where I wrote it so I can see which file and then I will get back to you, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:21, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Langues d'oïl 2.svg

Hi Goran,

Congratulations for the map Langues d'oïl 2.svg you created in january.

Allow me to suggest a few corrections :

  • chimi > chtimi
  • goscon > gascon
  • langnedocien > languedocien
  • jurossien > jurassien
  • valdcloste > Val d'Aoste
  • ?ard > niçard (or niçois)
  • prav? > provençal

Thank you ! EmDee.

EmDee Thanks for that information. This was exactly what I needed but the requester never got back to me with feedback, it's now corrected. --Goran tek-en (talk) 12:11, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Goran, I forgot to mention that the language spoken in western Switzerland is "romand" instead of "nomand" ! Sorry ! EmDee
Hi Goran, I don't see any change in the file Langues d'oïl 2.svg : did you save the new version under another name ? EmDee
EmDee I just checked, downloaded and opened and it has the changes. The preview can take some time even days to update, I don't know way. If you click or download any of the rendered png versions you can see that the are updated, like this 1000px. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:47, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Indeed ! One last remark : could you please replace "provencal-alpin" by "provençal-alpin" ? EmDee

✓ Done --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:10, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Are there other maps relating to France or Belgium that I could check ? EmDee
I actually don't know. I have no knowledge of the different subjects, I just do graphic work.
What you can do is look in the different categories i.e. Maps_of_France or look at all categories including "France" searched for category France and the same for Belgium. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:12, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Arabic Wikipedia map

Hi Goran, I noticed that you accepted my request for fixing this map, but the request was for fixing File:BlankMap-FlatWorld6.svg (and also, but not primarily, the Arabic wiki map) in a way that it will still be possible to change it with a text editor, something which is not possible if Inkscape is used. Cheers, Underlying lk (talk) 13:26, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Underlying lk I'm sorry if I misunderstood you in any way.
  • I don't remember were your request was so I can't check if I edited the wrong file or not and File:BlankMap-FlatWorld6.svg has South Sudan added since 16 March 2013.
  • If a map is very complex I sometimes saves it as a Inkscape svg (but then I try to put a template there showing it) so that further editing will be more easy. Generally I save it as plain svg from Inkscape and I don't understand why you can't edit that (even the true Inkscape svg) in a text editor?
  • Please tell me why that is not possible because I want to learn more so I can do what is best here, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:18, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
The request is here; BlankMap-FlatWorld6.svg is a kind of SVG map that allows to colour non-contiguous parts of a country by just adding some code in a text editor (per the instructions here), which is the method I had followed to create the Arabic Wikipedia map; after I added the code as explained in the map's documentation all countries were properly coloured except one, Sudan, and that led me to believe that something went wrong when South Sudan was added to the map. In the version you created, Sudan is correctly coloured but the code I had added is nowhere to be found, so that if someone else tries to create a derivative of BlankMap-World6.svg the problem would present itself anew. Changing a map with just a text editor is extremely convenient, so I wanted the map to work again as intended, after which fixing the Arabic Wiki map would be trivial. And let me say that if you misunderstood the request it was because I didn't explain it correctly, and I appreciate the help you've offered me so far. Cheers, Underlying lk (talk) 14:56, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Underlying lk Thanks for that info. I think the file BlankMap-FlatWorld6 should have a BIG template on it telling how it's constructed and linking to the documentaion page, there is no way to know this if it's not like that.
But it also says you can use Inkscape. And if a country doesn't exist you have to (anyway I) use Inkscape or similar to add the new lines/areas.
Hi Goran, it seems that I've managed to fix the issue. If you're curious about the origin of this problem you can check this diff: it seems that the colour fill and other styles for Sudan and South Sudan had been hardcoded into the image, so that trying to change the attributes of the class "sd" had no effect, simply because no such class existed in the new version. By restoring the class for Sudan (and adding a new one for South Sudan) the map became functional once again.--Underlying lk (talk) 10:54, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Age of Empires III

Another, rather minor image request: For the use in the (german) article de:Age of Empires III, there are three logos/"flags" de:Datei:Logo der Azteken AoE III.png, de:Datei:Logo der Sioux AoE III.png, de:Datei:Logo der Irokesen AoE III.png for native american tribes. These images are only ingame graphics. Can you vectorize them, and remove the grey background?--Antemister (talk) 13:51, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Antemister All the work I do I want to be able to upload at commons and there is a warning on them not to do so. To me they are included in the copyright protection that is available at the official website of Age of Empires III. So no, I will not convert them to vector images as to me this will be violating their copyright. If you don't think so you have to convince me. I do hope you understand my point. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:59, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
I assume that Template:PD-shape in combination with Template:Trademarked should be OK. Have a look Commons:Threshold of originality and the images shown there - I assume that those image are well below the treshold.--Antemister (talk) 17:18, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
This is a difficult subject and not very clear. I'm not convinced by that and what about the warning on the images not to upload them to commons?
Is there somewhere here at commons that you can ask and get other peoples opinion and preferably from one that knows about this kind of subject? --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:52, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Eh, don't take that warning sign for serios. If you upload a logo to the german WP, the default setting shows that warning. German treshold of orginality is much higher than US one, that means some logos can kept on german WP, but not on Commons. But here -these are, in fact, flags - it seems clear that they can be uploaded on commons.--Antemister (talk) 20:31, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
I have asked a question here and I will wait and see what comes there. --Goran tek-en (talk) 09:10, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Still no answer there...--Antemister (talk) 12:07, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Antemister No there is not. Maybe no one wants to give an opinion as it's a tricky situation or something else. So as for now I will not do them. I would need opinions from other people who know of this to feel it's OK. Sorry for you, but I have to go with my feelings of what is right. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:03, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Now there is one answer (threshold of originality question are rarely discussed on Commons)!--Antemister (talk) 09:26, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
Antemister Yes I have seen it and looked at it and it's link but to me that doesn't make anything more certain. It's a VERY difficult subject and it is interpreted different in most countries. I'm sorry but I still stick to my no. I do hope you can respect this and maybe you can find other images or use the ones you have. Again I hope this will not be a problem for future work together, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:20, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Layers of the GI Tract

Hi, the File:Layers_of_the_GI_Tract_english.svg, how did you do it? I know Inkscape and its "trace bitmap"-function, but I get miserable results from that. Any tips for me? ScotXW (talk) 15:10, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

ScotXW Forget about anything that has to do with auto or trace. You have to do it by hand. Draw everything from nothing, line by line and area by area, to build up the image. It's really hard to explain in text. I just have the basic image to get roughly the right proportions and so. Look on the internet and search for "tutorial inkscape". Then it's just to start read and practice. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:46, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Noooooooooo, and here I was hoping to lern some magic. You know, make the software do some of the work for me... Ok thank you so far. ScotXW (talk) 16:58, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
The software does a lot of work for you but you have to put in the info for it to work with. Life's normal reality, yeah it's hard and almost always the long way that works, no shortcuts. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:03, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

The File:IndoGreekKingdomAndCampaigns.svg contains raster elements

Quality issue The SVG image File:IndoGreekKingdomAndCampaigns.svg you uploaded contains embedded raster graphics and is now listed in Category:SVG images with embedded raster graphics. Such images are liable to produce inferior results when scaled to different sizes. If appropriate, please replace the raster graphics with vector graphics. You can either upload an improved version or simply allow the file to be deleted.

In all cases, please do not take this message personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 09:18, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Cwbm (commons)/Sig CwbmHi, my version of 21:14, 24 March 2014 does NOT in any way contain raster elements and I couldn't see any in the latest version either.
You will have to exactly specify what is raster in that image, so please get back to me and fix this, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:32, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Goran tek-en, I've removed this. Please read SVG basics.[10] Greetings -- Perhelion (talk) 21:26, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
Perhelion Thanks but I still don't understand.
  • I downloaded this version 21:14, 24 March 2014 of the file.
  • I opened it in a text editor and searched and found <image> element and there I got it's (one of them) ID, one is id="image6010".
  • I then opened the image in inkscape and tryed the search function for ID but it couldn't find anything.
  • I then instead opened the xml editor and there I could find id="image6010" and when I click on that an area in the image is activated.
  • This area hold no information and I have NO idea where it comes from.
  • In the textfile the link is xlink:href:"data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZRgABAQAAAQABAA which makes no sense to me.
  • Even more this part of that text /jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZRgABAQAAAQABAA can't be marked or copied in the text file.
I don't understand this and if you can bring me any knowledge on this I would be very thankful. --Goran tek-en (talk) 10:47, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Ok gladly, then this bitmap data must be in the orignal version. It was simply hidden with display="none" or style="display:none" (as in line 1619 of the previous version, if you remove this with a XML/text editor you can see a full map) Regards -- Perhelion (talk) 11:00, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Big sorry, it was me! I updated the map and forgot the map in there. APologies.--DLommes (talk) 17:33, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
Ok, but now yet I do not understand.:-P I don't know where the source from, but under File:IndoGreekKingdomAndCampaigns.svg the bitmap is in the first version already in place!? -- Perhelion (talk) 17:48, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

IndoGreek Dots

Hello goran, i answered on my talk page--DLommes (talk) 17:34, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

File:Wheelmobile.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Adding a flag for the Kakatiya Empire

Hello, I've picked the outstanding issue which you have raised about the flag for the kakatiya dynasty. I've replied in link. Please take a look and drop me a note if anything else is required. Thanks, Lateraldissonance (talk) 04:19, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

@Lateraldissonance: I have answered also but here you ask for a FLAG but in the request it's a MAP, which is it? --Goran tek-en (talk) 11:58, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

Maps template

All I did with File:Maps template-en.svg was translate the French version, expand the instructions ("Usage" in red at the top), and remove some proposed changes (the proposed changes do not appear in the preview, but are visible when opening the French template in Inkscape). I did not make any changes to the formatting (fonts, colors, font size). The authors of the French version are the ones who chose the fonts, not me. AHeneen (talk) 15:47, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I'm in contact with them so I will take it there, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:59, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank You for removing TIME-Stamp in my (eek) picture. --Paul - eine Silbersonne (talk) 19:42, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

No problem, I don't know which one/s you mean but that's OK. I do some in between. --Goran tek-en (talk) 10:55, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Fotobank.az watermark removing

Hi, Goran. Thank you for removing of fotobank watermark from photos uploaded by me. I have already uploaded a lot of old photos and documents (19th - early 20th cc.) but with fotobank watermatk. If you have a time could you please remove this watermark from these images as well? Regards, --Interfase (talk) 04:17, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

@Interfase: They are often not that easy to remove as it's big and in the center of the image where usually the main object is and even more complicated in faces and so on so it takes time. But if you provide me with a list of images here I can look at them in time and remove the ones I'm capable of. I will not give you a time estimate because it will be something I do in between. --Goran tek-en (talk) 11:41, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Dear Goran. Here are some old images with fotobank watermark. Please remove it from them if you have a time. Thanks,--Interfase (talk) 11:05, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
