Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

OK. I don't see the proof on that page, but it might be because Google Translate isn't doing a good enough job, or I just missed it. Thank you for your kind reply. This might be a stupid question, but I never uploaded an image before and me being a german local, I'm not at all familiar with your totally different law system. That's why I uploaded the media via the German wiki:commons section first. So what kind of proof would you count, if my name in the impressum (a german legal term required to run a website) of the official club website is not a proof. I could write a short statement on the page, that wikipedia can use the logo. Thank you for your help HauptsacheRugby 08:26, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ich glaube nicht, dass das Problem hier in einem unterschiedlichen Verständnis liegt, in welchem Rechtssystem eine Freigabe erfolgen soll.

Die generelle Anforderung: Bitte eine Freigabe an OTRS schicken, die infos stehen einen Beitrag weiter unten auch auf Deutsch (diese Seite auf Deutsch)

Widersprechen möchte ich dir noch. Der Urheber ist der Schöpfer des Werkes, ihm gebührt das Urheberrecht. Das Urheberrechte ist ausser bei Erbschaft nach dem Tod nicht übertragbar. Dass du Pressewart des Vereins bist, um dessen Logo es sich handelt macht dich nicht zum Urheber, trotzdem hast du die Datei als "eigenes Werk" hochgelande. Du kannst die Datei nur so verwenden, wie der Urheber es genehmigt hat. Du wolltest diese Datei unter der Lizenz CC-by-sa-3.0 veröffentlichen, d.h. das Logo jedem weltweit zur Verbreitung und Nutzung zur Verfügung stellen zu jedem Zweck einschließlich kommerzieller Zwecke und Bearbeitung unter der Bedingung das "HauptsacheRugby" namentlich genannt wird. Bitte stell, sofern du nicht selber der Schöpfer des Logos bist, sicher, dass der Urheber genau diesen Bedingungen zugestimmt hat. Am besten schriftlich. --Martin H. Danke Martin für die tolle Erklärung, die auch so Nicht-Juristen, wie ich verstehen ;-) Dann habe ich das wirklich komplett falsch verstanden. Weißt Du, wie das generell bei Vereinen läuft (simples Beispiel das Logo vom FC Bayern)? Urheberschaft ist zwar nicht das Thema (da Vereinsmitglied von uns), aber komplette Freistellung vielleicht schon eher. --HauptsacheRugby 07:30, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Üblicherweise erteilt der Urheber - meistens sind das ja Agenturen die das professionell machen - dem Nutzer ein Nutzungsrecht welches die Weitergabe zu bestimmten Zwecken einschließet bzw. gestattet. Z.B. für Pressezwecke, vgl. http://www.fcbayern.de/de/club/presse/medien-downloads/ um im Beispiel zu bleiben. Wikimedia Projekte aber sind freie Inhalte (free content), d.h. um etwas hier hochzuladen muss der Urheber einer freien Lizenz zustimmen, eine Genehmigung nur für Wikipedia oder nur für Pressezwecke reicht nicht. Wenn das nicht gewollt ist, bleibt die Option die Datei nicht hier auf dem gemeinsamen Medienspeicher für alle Wikimedia Projekte hochzuladen sondern lokal in der englischen Wikipedia unter "fair use" hochzuladen. Fair use ist die Verwendung ohne Zustimmung des Urhebers oder ohne freie Lizenz für wissenschaftliche oder bildende Zwecke, siehe en:Wikipedia:Non-free content. Fair use ist eine Ausnahme von der free content Doktrin der Wikimedia Projekte, die aber nicht auf allen Projekten Anwendung findet, siehe Commons:Fair use. Dafür in der englischen Wikipedia auf Upload file gehen und im Step 3 angeben, dass die Datei nicht frei ist, aber unter fair use fällt. --Martin H. (talk) 10:28, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, herzlichen Dank für die ausführliche Einführung in die Bildrechteproblematik. Hat mir vorerst sehr weitergeholfen. Werde mich damit mal nach Ostern weiter beschäftigen.
