User talk:Scratchinghead
File:Flag of the Serbian Despotate.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
In addition, I noticed that you've made a malformed deletion request. Here, {{Delete}} is not for speedy deletion, please see COM:DP. When you want to delete a page by manually using the {{Delete}} template (rather than the automatic Nominate for deletion tool in the Tools menu on the sidebar per COM:DR#Starting requests), please remember to follow the instructions in the template, including the "Click here to show further instructions" portion (or Commons:Deletion requests/Listing a request manually policy), otherwise you will create a lot of work for other people. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:07, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Communist symbol (template).svg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Hello and good day, however, this file was created by myself in Inkscape, and hasn't been posted anywhere else since. My username does not match my real name, however, there is no EXIF metadata concerning the author. This implies with any other files you might have tagged as well. Sorry for the inconvenience. - What bases did you use for those files? They are very similar to flags and other symbology widely available on the Internet. See also COM:DW. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 13:38, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- I get it now, sorry for the inconvenience, forgive me as I am just some 10 yr old kid Old!!man1234561234 (talk) 15:19, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

File copyright status
[edit]Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:18, 22 December 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for the inconvenience, but the files that you have tagged that I have published are solely drawn by me in Inkscape, and contains no EXIF information about the author, and have not been published in any other site or environment. Old!!man1234561234 (talk) 14:55, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
File:WorldMap.svg
[edit]Thanks for the fix, but it also made the oceans transparent and removed the map border. If that was an intentional aesthetic choice, fair enough, but the Wikipedia articles using the map may be expecting it to have that border and background. By all means upload a borderless version as a new, separate file. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:30, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that the border was removed. I didn't see Scratchinghead (talk) 16:35, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
Singrauli maps
[edit]Hi, shouldn't something be done about those map forgeries promoting anachronistic Singrauli? A broader discussion to raising the point on "old map forgeries", or simply starting deletion requests? --Enyavar (talk) 17:21, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- I realize that, the person is HistoricGeek2345 who are promoting singrauli to the point where the nearby states don't actually exist. Singrauli is a not-heard of-state, so I guess they are trying to promote it. But making forgeries is unacceptable. I'll warn them on their talk page, but other than that we can only file deletion requests for admins to come and see. And yes, their topic is Singrauli and Singrauli only. Scratchinghead (talk) 18:03, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- A notice though: They receive messages on their Wikipedia talk page. You might want to do whatever there (in case of contact) instead of here. Scratchinghead (talk) 18:04, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
