Thanks for uploading File:Sahar Nasr 01.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Sahar Nasr 01.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

File copyright status[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 19:52, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above mentioned files was published under Article 178 of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002: which cleared that public personalities pictures may be published without the authorization of the person whose picture was taken OR the authorization of the author of the picture.--Muhammad adel007 (talk) 12:30, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you simply forget that, according to Article 178 of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002, it must be an "official photograph of a public personality taken from an official government source and that the source does not contain any copyright notice restricting the use of this image." So where's the link to "the government website with no mention of copyright" in the file descriptions? --Patrick Rogel (talk) 13:29, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is the statement from Article 178 of Egyptian Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002:

The person who makes a picture may not publish, exhibit or distribute the original or copies of that picture without the authorization of the person or persons whose picture was taken, unless otherwise agreed. However, such a picture may be published if it concerned public events, official or public personalities, or persons of local or worldwide renown; or if the publication was authorized by public authorities in the public interest, provided that such exhibition or circulation of that picture shall not cause prejudice to the honour, reputation or dignity of that person. The person whose picture was taken may authorize the publication of the picture in newspapers and other similar publications, even without the authorization of the author of the picture, unless otherwise agreed. The preceding provisions shall apply whatever the process used for making the picture, such as by drawing, engraving or any other process.

where does it say it "official photograph of a public personality taken from an official government source and that the source does not contain any copyright notice restricting the use of this image.".--Muhammad adel007 (talk) 13:53, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the template you put on the files: {{PD-Egypt-Public Personalities}}. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 14:02, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The template could be altered if it's agreed that it's contraducting with the Article 178 mentioned above.--Muhammad adel007 (talk) 14:09, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You should know better than anybody else since you have created the template... but I think we are talking about "personality rights", not copyright. To discuss it further I open a regular DR below. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 16:03, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's not about what you think here. The Article 178 of Egyptian law is clearly taking about publishing rights. Muhammad adel007 (talk) 17:20, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I altered the mentioned template to be in accordance with Article 178. So your first allegations is revoked. Muhammad adel007 (talk) 17:30, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
