Thanks. And no, I don't mind. Firefox needs a grammar checker. MECU≈talk 14:50, 17 April 2007 (UTC) JunkThanks for tagging it! --Herby talk thyme 07:09, 22 May 2007 (UTC) Can you tell me, what the main idea behind your edit was? FYIThe "© all rights reserved" notice is always present on fotopic sites, whether the author wishes it or not -- all images I take from there I have email permission for. Welcome to adminshipCongratulation. With 11 supports versus 2 opposes, I grant you adminship. As we have too many uncategorized images, you may want to randomly check them for untagged ones.--Jusjih 08:32, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Rotated imageThanks for rotating Image:Penstemon_clutei2.jpg. Is there a way I can do that when something goes wrong, or do you have to be an administrator or something? —JerryFriedman 14:14, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Need Large file HelpHello WJBscribe, I have a large file I need uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. It's a 60MB Djvu (multi-page image) of a Public Domain (1917) Bible. It's for a Wikisource project that intends to preserve that relatively difficult to find Bible translation. When I asked #wikimedia-commons, they indicated a ~20MB cap (for most users) and pointed me in your direction indicating you may be able to bypass the 20MB restriction. The file I need uploaded is located at ftp://ia311543.us.archive.org/1/items/holyscripturesac028077mbp/holyscripturesac028077mbp.djvu. The Wiksource project page for this work is located at s:Bible_(Jewish_Publication_Society_1917) Would you please assist me. Send any comments or questions you may have to my Commons user page. Thanks. —Wikijeff 03:32, 26 June 2007 (UTC) HelloWould you mind very much to delete this, it does not work for me :)-Sandahl 21:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC) [1].
Jim McGreeveyScribe - I don't think this photo is in the public domain Image:Jimmcgreevey.jpg. U.S. public domain applies to works by the federal government, not the state government, and this is from the State of New Jersey. The issue will be moot pretty soon - I'm meeting with McGreevey this afternoon to do a photo shoot with him. --DavidShankbone 18:32, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Deletion of images used in WikibooksHi Will, I am the author of File:HP possible locations of Godric's Hollow.PNG that was deleted recently. I was a bit disappointed about the deletion. I am sorry I wasn't around for defending it, but I was surprised by your comment in the deletion votes. "No Wikimedia projects allow OR to be used" What about wikibooks? They all are original research, since the authors are writing a new book about a particular subject, sometimes in an area that is not fully explored. For e.g. I am writing a language-learning book in English on the Kapampangan language, which is necessarily original research, since it has never been done before. Should my book be entirely deleted? Or are we not allowed to use the commons to store images for wikibooks? (I was previously receommended to use the commons by other administrators, for the wikibooks, was there a policy change that I missed?). Thanks for you reply. Lgriot 12:41, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
OP blocksJust for interest where did you get the info on those three (I've blocked them in a few places based on trusting you!!)? Cheers --Herby talk thyme 10:45, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
HumYou obviously have an interest in such things (as I do) so can I point you here. I'd like to get this going again and get something in about CU activity (maybe 'crats too?). Personally I'm a fan of Meta confirmation but I don't know if it would be too much here? My internet access is very patch for a week or so but views more than welcome. I do try and assume good faith but find it hard sometimes!. Cheers --Herby talk thyme 11:31, 5 September 2007 (UTC) BlockHi, My name is Richard Thompson and I understand you have blocked me from opening an account. I further understand that this is because my IP is registered to our Internet provider, Etisalat, the State telecoms company of the UAE. Unfortunately we have no option but to access the internet throgh the Etisalat proxy server which acts as a censor to prevent acces to "inappropriate sites" IE those which criticise the Rulers or have "adult" content. It appears that as some students at a Lebanese School have inappropriately edited a page the whole of the UAE has been efectively banned from opening accounts and contributing to Wikipedia. I would ask you to unblock Etislat and, if it is technicaly possible selectively block the Chouifat School. Thanks and regards. Richard Thompson richard.thompson@eim.ae
PermissionI have the e-mail from James W. Johnson of J. W. Johnson Photography that gives me permission to use the images. Do you want me to e-mail it to the e-mail address for OTRS you left on my talk page? What should I do after that? Please let me know by replying to this message on my talk page. A litte more cleanup after User:LeopoldHi WJBscribe. Thanks for cleaning up the mess after User:Leopold. Would you mind to remove the last one as well (Image:Vitt.Alb.Balzarotti.jpg)? Although we've identified the person on the image, it seems like a bad idea to keep it given that the name is misleading and - more importantly - because the uploader has digitally faked a part of the image in order to create the impression that this person was an Italian. If you compare with the original [3], the uploader has blacked out a prominently featuring order on the person's uniform. Happy editing. Valentinian T / C 08:30, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Invite to the "bear pit"And I thought folk on Commons were nice! Thanks for the thought but Samulili had a reason for the request probably the only rationale that I might come up with would be in connection with the Meta spam blacklist but aspects of that are fairly well covered on en wp at present. Equally although I have quite a few edits on my first name, this one's edits would get laughed out I think. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:02, 15 October 2007 (UTC) Main page imagesHey. I guess you noticed the images at the same time I did. Viewing User:Zzyzx11/En main page enabled cascading protection on all of them. This happens a lot, it seems, since he doesn't always purge/view the page everyday. RockMFR 00:10, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
OTSR ticketsYou mentioned a ticket when you deleted an image. How can I view this ticket? 2007110910014659 Thank you. Jecowa 01:16, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks !Hi WJBscribe! Just a big thank you for your support in my RfA which ended to be successful. Regards. — Xavier, 00:37, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
OpinionI'd like your opinion on this image name. Would it be possible to "move" it to a more appropriate name, that editors would find less offensive? While the image is valid, and the name is valid, I'm a bit concerned as to why the editor chose that particular file name, and it has come up on WP within the context of adding it to the page. It is possible that the image is a copyright violation, as no author information was given, and the source cited was "Sereno PC, Wilson JA, Witmer LM, Whitlock JA, Maga A, et al. Structural Extremes in a Cretaceous Dinosaur. PLoS ONE. 2, 11, e1230. 2007. DOI:10.1371/journal.pone.0001230", which would appear to me, to be a journal of some kind, with no permission asserted. Regardless, the name is causing issues, so I was wondering if anything could be done to rename it? Thanks! Ariel♥Gold 18:16, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
plopSalut WJBscribe, Thanks......for taking the time to comment at my RfA. I promise to give your concerns due consideration. Videmus Omnia 16:06, 14 December 2007 (UTC) My RfAHi, WJBscribe. Although your vote was oppose, I appreciate your comments in my recent nomination, and I'll work to prove that your concerns won't prevent me from working in the best way I'm able. Finally, I've been appointed and I'm ready to go on working (this time with some extra buttons). If you need anything from me, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be glad to help. Best regards and thank you again. --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 21:28, 16 December 2007 (UTC) Many ThanksDear WJBscribe,
Thank you for taking part in my Requests for Adminship. The RfA was successful and I am now an administrator here. There were concerns over my temperament from respected editors, and I have taken these concerns on board, with the aim of being a more polite and courteous administrator both here and on the English Wikipedia. If you need help with anything, here or on the English Wikipedia, such as history from deleted images and such, please don't hesitate to shout. My door is always open, so to speak. WikinewsHi Scribe. Wikinews has a front page "News in pictures" photo. We aren't always the best at updating it. Wikinews was thinking that there might be a couple of people at Commons who would update the Wikinews front page photo every day or two? If more people are interested, great - then they can vote. I'm not sure where to ask or who to ask. --DavidShankbone 19:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm troubledBy actions such as this when an IP troll has taken to warring against this photograph for some reason, and clearly took it a step further. I was not notified, there was no discussion, it was just deleted despite being used on several pages. --DavidShankbone 17:06, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Many ThanksDear WJBscribe,
Thank you for supporting my Request for Adminship. I’m honored by your trust and will do my best to help build a better site. Durova 21:03, 8 March 2008 (UTC) Start small, close obvious deletion discussions. Get bolder with experience. Pretty soon Commons will have ten thousand images! (giggles, flees) ;) Page protThis page is semi prot for a week given the IP postings here. History will show what I mean. Feel free to adjust/un prot etc. Cheers --Herby talk thyme 10:35, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Flickr image reviewHi Will, could you possibly approve two Flickr images I've uploaded? Image:TheMyriad JohnSchofield.jpg and Image:ThousandFootKrutch.jpg. The FlickrReviewR bot couldn't figure out the licensing on both images because of sizing of the images (I had cropped the images from their original Flickr versions), and I've been waiting for a few days now for an administrator/trusted user to take care of them. Could you me so kind as to review the licensing of those images? I'm just beginning to get a little impatient, since Flickr image approval hasn't taken very long for other images I've previously uploaded. Thanks a bunch, JamieS93 21:33, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
QuestionI'm in the middle of uploading several hundred free-use pix from flickr and after 25, I'm getting a message telling me that I've reached my limit. Do I have to wait a day until I can upload more? I was hoping to upload the majority of them this evening and I've asked a few other people to help because there are so many. Gracias. Re: Images w/o mediaYeah, I deleted a few pages in CAT:CSD that were just descriptions... I saw no attached media file. It might be a glitch? Monobi (talk) 22:29, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you!Hello, WJBscribe. Thank you for supporting me in the request for adminship. Although it hasn't done successfully, I proud that twenty-nine trusted contributors -including you- voted for me. Thank you again for your trust.--OsamaK 14:11, 22 December 2008 (UTC) |
