"Missing" source[edit]

Hi. Recently you has tagged two files (made by still inactive user Orange man) as "no source" (File:Elektrarna_Tisová.jpg, File:Elektrarna_Tisova3.jpg. You are right that some fields in the {{Information}} template were empty. However, both these files where tagged with {{PD-self|author=I, [[User:Orange.man|Orange.man]]}} when uploaded, and both have full metadata etc. There is no reason to suspect them as "no source". Sorry, that's wrong. Self-uploading an image is not a proof for the ownership and for holding the copyrights. In particular File:Earl1957.jpg and File:Earl-Dodge-2007.jpg are not User:Caldodges own work so permission of Barbara V. Dodge and Holly Patterson is required. Missing licence information[edit]

Hello Georg!

You have marked the following files with "no source"-tags: File:Knoting1.JPG, File:Knoting2.JPG, File:Knoting3.JPG, File:Knoting4.JPG, File:Knoting5.JPG. After that User:Pieter Kuiper removed those tags without rationale. Because I aggree with you and it is easily visible that there is no sufficient author, licence and source information, I reverted Kuiper's edits. And again Kuiper reverted them with the wrong rationale: "information is given". I tried to contact Kuiper hours ago, but he did not react. What to do now? Hallo High Contrast, ich habe mir die Dateien nochmal angesehen. Pieter hat wohl recht: unter "Dateiversionen" sind Quellinformationen angegeben. Das habe ich zuvor nicht gesehen, obwohl ich darauf in der Regel beim durchsehen der Dateien auch achte. Es wundert mich nur, das diese Informationen weder in der Dateibeschreibung noch beim bearbeiten der Datei nicht angezeigt werden.

Das lässt sich nicht herausfinden wer das Logo designed hat. Wieso wird http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:CDU_logo.svg dann z.b. nicht gelöscht? Bzw was für eine Lizenz gehört zu einem Parteilogo / Logo einer Organisation? Ich hatte es selber eingescannt. Ich denke nicht dass jemand darüber (noch) Rechte hat.

Hi Georg. Dieses Bild hatte eine Quelle und zwar hatte der Autor das Bild mit der Lizenz: {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-3.0,2.5,2.0,1.0}} freigegeben und self impliziert ja das der Autor das Bild selbst gemacht hat. Why the removal of "unidentified people" from File:18 Mar 2007 Seattle Demo 06.jpg and File:19 Mar 2007 Seattle Demo 42.jpg? The former is a poet addressing a rally of several thousand people, so presumably if she can be identified we'd want a name. Nachtrag: Inzwischen war Sargoth auf de-wp so freundlich, die Datei dort zu restaurieren. Und zum Zeit des Transfers stand sie dort tatsächlich unter der GFDL, wenngleich diese Änderung von jemand anders, offenbar im Auftrag von Ralf Roletschek, durchgeführt wurde. Danke, GeorgHH, inzwischen ist geklärt, dass die GFDL durch einen irrgeleiteten Bot auf de-wp eingefügt wurde. Es erfolgte nicht im Auftrag von Ralf, da er die Aufnahme nicht gemacht hat, sondern damals davon ausging, dass das Foto gemeinfrei sei, was sich später als nicht zutreffend erwiesen hat. Mal eine Frage zu einem Deiner Bilder:[edit]

Dieses Bild und seine Beschreibung irritieren mich etwas. Du beschreibst es als "Shell Raffinerie am Reiherstieg, Hamburg." Laut meinem Stadtplan befindet sich die Shell-Raffinerie auf der Hohen Schaar, die westlich des Reiherstieges liegt. Das Bild ist aber eindeutig nach Norden photographiert (weil man am Horizont Michel und Telemichel sieht), so dass es sich bei den gezeigten Anlagen um ein Ostufer handeln muss. Entweder zeigt es also die Süderelbe (die Hohe Schaar liegt ja östlich von ihr) oder nicht Shell. Kannst Du mir da helfen? --Mogelzahn (talk) 17:09, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello GeorgHH, There is some note in my personal box saying that this file may be deleted. Please do not delete this file. I created the file personally. It contains only images that I personally created using a free and totally legal copy of some drawing software.

I am no Wiki expert, but I do know spectroscopy and the actual physics of sunrise, sunset, and cloud and sky events. If you read the history of the Sunset and Sunrise articles, I have been the one and only scientist who has written the correct and factual versions of source of the colors at sunset and sunrise for the past 3 years. This diagram has been an important part of ending 3 years of incorrect and non'factual editing by others. Since the other editors could not understand the mathematics of the higher order Bessel functions required to understand Mie Scattering and the successive scattering events that make red sunsets, red sunrises, blue skies and white clouds, if you delete this diagram over my minor misunderstanding of how to fill out the Wiki attribution form, then without the diagrams, the novice physicists and high school teachers who kept mis-editing the Sunrise and Sunset articles will likely not understand and they will begin making erroneous edits, again. The previous critics seem to only understand pictures - since formulae did not convince them for the previous 3 years..

There were 3 years of ongoing incorrect edit changes by several novice physicists and other people who do not understand spectroscopy. These people finally understood the processes, but only after I created these diagrams, along with reporting official NASA and NOAA webreferences of the actual physical explanations now, finally, present in the sunrise and sunset articles. The 3 years of bickering by others was based on bad less-than-thorough high school level explanations that they quoted from low level physics texts.

Please help me maintain these diagrams, as they played, and continue to play an important role in explaining successive complex phenomenae. I do not understand all the eccentricities of Wikipedia - and if the people, like you, who know how to work the Wiki-machinery only blindly execute the rules - destroying useful and the only accurate diagrams and visual descriptions of sunrise and sunset processes, then Wikipedia really may not be worth saving.

If Wikipedia is only about politics and who knows how to attack and delete accurate and useful information - blindly following Wiki-rules and Wiki-protocols, then the site really does need help.

Please remove whatever restriction you have placed. I tried 3 times to get the arcane attribution page to work, but it was less-than-user-friendly - so, please change whatever values that Wiki finds inconsistent - and keep some worthwhile content. Deine letzen Löschungen[edit]

Hallo GeorgHH, du hast heute und gestern einige Dateien mit der Begründung "Private image without educational content. unused." gelöscht. Ich habe nichts generell gegen die Löschung (obwohl ich nur zufällig zwei Dateien ansah), aber ich finde, du solltest Löschanträge stellen (Grund: out of scope + deinen als Löschbegründnung verwendeten Text), statt sie "schnell" zu löschen. Siehe auch Commons:Löschrichtlinien und welche Dateien dort als schnelllöschfähig aufgeführt sind. Allermindestens sollten die Benutzer Bescheid bekommen, dass du gelöscht hast. Hi ! Instead of deleting you could have added the name of the country at the end of Category:Pronunciation of, well, it would help me because now this thing will bother me more than anything else. Please don't add Category:Uncategorized categories[edit]

I noticed that you add often Category:Uncategorized categories to uncategorised categories in Special:UncategorizedCategories. The nice thing is that they disappear from the list which we manage to keep below 70 items. The drawback is that they are dropped in Category:Uncategorized categories where they keep hanging for weeks or months. Hi, there's a misunderstanding on this. I don't add Category:Uncategorized categories to categories in Special:UncategorizedCategories, rather I add it to Special:WantedCategories. Sie haben am 25.11. einen Antrag auf Löschung der drei Bilder gestellt, die wir (die Wer liefert was? GmbH) am 21.11. auf die „Wer liefert was?“-Seite eigebunden haben. Leider haben wir den Antrag erst heute gesehen, die Bilder waren bereits auf Wikimedia Commons gelöscht. Die Begründung des Antrags lautete, dass der Uploader der Bilder (in diesem Falle wir) einen Nachweis erbringen soll, dass er berechtigt ist, Bilder der Wer liefert was? GmbH hochzuladen.
